The GracePointe community is leading the theological development and practice of Progressive Christianity. This is at the core of what makes us distinct, and is far from a simple label change for a modern repackaging of traditional beliefs.

Chapter 16 | The Meaning(s) of Easter in Mark
The version of Easter we find at the end of Mark’s Gospel is very different from the other Gospels. It’s short, includes no appearance of the risen Jesus, and end abruptly. Yet, this is also the first Easter narrative, the one that Matthew, Luke, and John use as a springboard to tell their stories. What does Mark think Easter means? How does this strange story offer hope or speak to us today?

Chapter 10 | Jesus and the Rich Man
This week we find ourselves in Mark chapter 10, where we meet a rich person who asks Jesus a big question. “What must I do to inherit eternal life,” he asked. Jesus’s answer might surprise us!
-
Chapter 9 | The Metamorphosis of Jesus
This week we are back into our series through the Gospel of Mark. In chapter 9 Jesus takes his closest disciples up a mountain and they have an experience that is both strange and transformative. What did the story of Jesus’s transfiguration mean for Mark? What does it mean for us, today?

amazing
I stumbled upon this podcast randomly through a google search. I thought I had lost my faith until I listened to the “Inherent Union with God” episode. Best rhetoric I have ever heard, and the overall emphasis on the mission of Jesus over salvation through his death changed my perspective. Truly cannot emphasize how amazing I think this church/podcast is. I listen all the time now. Wish I lived in Nashville
The love humanity is there, but truth is lacking.
This church recently posted the following,
“As Progressive Christians, we're open to the tensions and inconsistencies in the Bible. We know that it can't live up to impossible, modern standards. We strive to more clearly articulate what Scripture is and isn't.”
I think it’s good to strive to clearly articulate the Bible, by modern standards it definitely brings up tension in our culture. But if the Bible can’t live up to the standards for this church, then what does? Humanity?
Scroll through the available sermons, pick one, and it won’t be long before you learn that this church trusts themselves rather than God.
This church strives to be loving, but they lack truth.
Find a church that preaches the Bible with both love and truth.
Wow
I found this podcast randomly through a recommendation on Instagram. Started listening to it because of the teaching surrounding the biblical story of the demon Legion and the pigs. I don’t know this pastor, I’ve never even been to Tennessee but I’m so thankful for their ministry. My life has truly been enriched and my faith deepened because of Pastor Josh Scott’s genuine and gentle, thought provoking approach to teaching.
