This weeks episode we are looking into the subject of salvation and what is often referred to by Calvinism as the T.U.L.I.P. theological or doctrines.  What does the "tulip" stand for, well here it is in its acronym format-
T - Total Depravity
U- Unconditional Election
L- Limited Atonement
I- Irresistible Grace
P- Perseverance/Predestination (some will use different terms)

What was Slavery like in the time of Paul? In this podcast episode we examine the historical concept of what was slavery like and how did it operate in the time of Timothy?  Why would Paul write of such a 'hot topic' of society? How did the early church view and respond to the subject of slavery?
I Timothy 6:1-2
Examples of Slavery/servant in the scriptures:
War (Numbers 31, Deut 20), Purchased (Lev. 25), Sold oneself into (Lev. 25, Deut. 15), Sold oneself to pay for debt (2 Kings 4, Neh. 5), Received via a gift (Gen. 29:24), Inherited servant (Lev. 25:46), and one Born into slavery.
What does a "calling" have to do with this subject and that of the writing of I Timothy (letter to a young pastor of Ephesus)?  It is said that 1/3rd of the Roman Empire was made up of slaves.
