Hamlet by William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616)
Hamlet is commonly regarded as one of the greatest plays ever written. Drawing on Danish chronicles and the Elizabethan vogue for revenge tragedy, Shakespeare created a play that is at once a philosophic treatise, a family drama, and a supernatural thriller. In the wake of his father's death, Prince Hamlet finds that his Uncle Claudius has swiftly taken the throne and married his mother, Queen Gertrude. The ghost of the dead king then appears and charges Claudius with 'murder most foul.' Hamlet is called to revenge his father's death: but will he be able to act before it is too late? Pretty Darn Good

I am using this recording instead of reading for class while I follow along. The audio is a bit fuzzy at times, but it is really helping to to comprehend what is happening while I follow along. It follows the text almost perfectly so it's done very well!
Pretty good.

The cast is all fantastic except Hamlet; he reads far, far, far too slowly.
A good aide for learning the play

This recording is a good resource for learning the play. The recording is clearly a set of cut and pastes which makes it choppy. This is distracting at times. The main characters read well and theatrically. It was very useful in familiarizing myself with the play.
