Ep. 219: Climb The Wall And Enjoy The View

Liz and Sarah talk about hitting the wall — and then climbing on top of it to enjoy the view. They’ve accomplished a lot in the last few months! In Take a Hike, Sarah allows herself a moment to focus on her mental health with words of wisdom from her friend and real estate agent, Victoria Massengale: “You’re allowed to have normal human emotions.” In The Craft (& Fain), Liz and Sarah share their philosophy when it comes to giving and receiving notes. The psychic burden is quite different between the two! This week's Hollywood Hack is a way to beat the heat in hot locations: Carry a fan.

    Ep. 216: Tackling The Tedious

    Ep. 216: Tackling The Tedious

Liz and Sarah talk about how they’re trying to stay zen during endless Zoom meetings as they move into the post production phase of Fantasy Island. In theIr new segment A Day In The Life, they share exactly what a day of showrunning looks like — for Sarah the day started at 5:30am! Then In Take Hike, Liz and Sarah discuss how making little adjustments can have a big impact. One example? When Sarah and Violet share a bed, they each have their own comforter. This week’s Hollywood Hack is quite tasty: Gluten Free Oreos!

Ep. 215: Accepting We Don’t Have Control

Ep. 215: Accepting We Don’t Have Control

As Liz and Sarah start to hand over cuts of Fantasy Island to the studio and network, they have to accept they don’t have control over how other people react. And that’s okay! In Hits & Bombs, Liz gives a Hit to Bravo for bringing Heather Dubrow back to the Real Housewives of Orange County. She also gives herself a Bomb for not succeeding with her post Puerto Rico clean slate. In The Mailroom, Liz and Sarah answer a question about their process of breaking story. Finally, this week’s Hollywood Hack comes from Sarah’s daughter Violet: Watch before and after pet videos on You Tube for a quick pick-me-up.

    Ep. 214: Be An Insulator

    Ep. 214: Be An Insulator

Liz and Sarah discuss a great compliment they received from one of the Fantasy Island writers— they’re insulators as opposed to conductors when it comes to keeping show stress from infiltrating the Writers Room. Then, in their new Amplify segment, they share a fantastic new podcast from Liz's sister-in-law, Olivia Fierro: Olivia’s Book Club. Plus, now that they're back from Puerto Rico, they settle an important L v S: Is it better or worse to be working at a vacation destination? Finally, this week's Hollywood Hack will help you feel better in times of stress — take Advil.

The actor has learned!

Dear Liz and Sara! Listening to your podcast is the closest thing to having friends who are like me that’s in entertainment. I have learned so much about the writing process and that it is a grind with ups and downs, twists and turns, but that you two gather so much wisdom along the way. That being said, I feel that I have grown as an actor through your stories from creating “The Fix” and now to launching “Fantasy Island”.

Presently, I find that I no longer need to listen anymore because What’s happening now, is that I’m listening just out of pure habit. So I wanted to say thank you before I unsubscribe. If you wanna learn more about me, you can go to raulisavoiceactor.com. Good luck with the rest of the podcast!

Clueless

Use to be fun and light hearted. And then it became more and more apparent that Liz and Sarah are clueless just as the rest of Hollywood. Why are writers, cast, and crew treated to covid vaccinations when elderly and those with compromised immune systems continued to wait to receive a vaccine? Is Hollywood an essential business? Absolutely NOT! We need healthcare workers, first responders, grocery store employees, delivery service employees, teachers, and students to ALL receive their vaccines first before Hollywood gets their vaccines.

We can all agree that nothing these two have never written made it BIG but yet they act like they are gods. That we, the pheasants of the real world, should hang on every word they say or write. Just skip this podcast and save your eardrums.
