Footprints and Photographs - Polly’s Pumpkin Patch 🎃 (October, 2024)

Gang, strap in for Footprints and Photographs! Kristin and I recently went to one of our favorite seasonal hotspots: Polly’s Pumpkin Patch. This was our second corn maze and pumpkin patch of the year; hopefully a few more are down the road for us as well. With that said, Polly’s delivered as always. This year’s corn maze was incredibly challenging and a true test of our navigation skills—which must have been rusty because we struggled dearly to find our way through. We never made it to the other side. But, oh well! We still had a lot of fun wandering through the corn. To top of our experience at Polly’s, we took our first “hayride” of the year. Quotation marks were needed because it was anything but a hayride. There was no hay involved. But that’s nothing more a laughing matter because it was actually a really great time! Once everyone was loaded up in the tractor trailer, our driver drove us to a huge pumpkin patch where we were allowed 15 minutes to mosey through and scout pumpkins for the pickins’. 🎃 We had already bought our fall decorations a few weeks prior, so we didn’t bring any of Polly’s pumpkins home with us. Nevertheless, it was incredible to walk through about 250 yards of field and see thousands upon thousands of pumpkins. We booked it out of there after the hayride. Instead of going home, we shot over to High Cliff State Park for a quick hike. High Cliff is where Tonkie first started to shoot photography with me back in 2021! Talk about nostalgia returning to that location. In a way, you could say that High Cliff was the beginning of Red Velvet Photography. I was pretty tuckered out after our day because 3rd shift has been fucking with my sleep badly. With that said, we hit it hard and had an amazing day together. You can’t go wrong with that! Thank you Tonkie for making Polly’s and High Cliff a wonderful experience. I can’t wait to return next year with you! velvetmessiah.exposure.co
