Everyone possesses a child inside. This inner child may be viewed as a clear portrayal of the young you, a patchwork of the stages of development you've gone through, or a representation of innocent fantasies and playfulness. You must first recognize your inner child's presence in order to start the healing process. Recognizing and accepting things that hurt you as a child is the bulk of the honoring your inner child process. You can start to grasp the effects of these wounds by bringing them into the open. Don't be hesitant to give it a try, though; many individuals find it beneficial, even calming, to speak to their inner child in this way. You might even think of it as a type of self-care because connecting with your inner kid can help you rediscover joy and wonder. Making a connection with your inner child can help you develop a stronger, more complete sense of who you are, even if you can't see or hear it clearly.
