    EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS
Lifestyle Creep - Your income increases, but you let your expenses increase even higher. Take a step back before you make any purchasing decisions. Make sure the thing you're buying is something you truly want, and not out of emotion, pride, or greed. Health is wealth, and peace of mind is part of mental health. Mind your Income to Expense ratio. Your expenses should never come close to your income. Sales Psychology states that people make financial decisions emotionally and try to justify them logically. Don't make large purchases immediately. Do some research, try it out, and let weeks pass before deciding again.
3 KEY POINTS - Questions to ask yourself before making a purchase:
Am I going to buy this to impress others? Is this an emotional buying decision? Does the value exceed the price I'm going to pay?

#269: Financial Planning, Asset Protection, and Health Insurance Talk with Jacob Bevilacqua

#269: Financial Planning, Asset Protection, and Health Insurance Talk with Jacob Bevilacqua

Save money for the future, but don’t be afraid to spend on the now.

Jason A. Duprat, Entrepreneur, Healthcare Practitioner, and Host of the Healthcare Entrepreneur Academy podcast, sits down with Jacob Bevilacqua, 1099 CRNA and Financial Advisor at Capital Management Partners LLC. Jacob's mission is to promote financial independence and help people gain back control over their lives. Tune into this episode to learn more about the ins and outs of insurance and timeless insights on reaching your financial goals while enjoying the present.

    EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS
Jacob is a firm believer in having enough but never excess, and not getting insured for things that don't need to be covered. The two big financial catastrophes in life are dying and leaving your family without your income, and being unable to work and earn income because of a disability. For life insurance, you may avail of it wherever possible. However, for disability insurance, different companies are better for different specialists. Find a trusted independent agent who's familiar with your profession. There are two main subcategories of Life Insurance - Term insurance and Whole Life Insurance. Jacob generally recommends the former. Someone who earns a lot but saves very little is not considered wealthy. Automate your expenses: Taxes, Monthly Bills, and Monthly Savings you need for your goals. Set them aside after every salary, then enjoy the rest of your money. Have a system where you save toward your goals while enjoying your money at the same time. Invest in something you're interested in and excited about. Example: starting a business. Delegating can free up essential time in your life. Books recommended during the discussion were "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and "Rich Dad's Cashflow Quadrant" by Robert Kiyosaki "Your Money or Your Life" by Vicki Robin
    3 KEY POINTS
Insurance comes in many forms and for different purposes. Find a trusted agent who knows your profession. Live your life and enjoy your money in the now.
    TWEETABLE QUOTES
"If you make a million dollars a year but spend all of it, that’s not wealthy, but if you make a hundred thousand dollars and save half of that, that’s wealthy." – Jacob Bevilacqua

#268: The Evolving Field of Functional Medicine & Why Things Need to Change in the US Healthcare System

#268: The Evolving Field of Functional Medicine & Why Things Need to Change in the US Healthcare System

When fixing a problem, you cut it right at the source.

Jason A. Duprat, Entrepreneur, Healthcare Practitioner, and Host of the Healthcare Entrepreneur Academy podcast, talks about the potential of Functional Medicine and how it can help improve our current Healthcare system. In this episode, Jason shares his personal story about how the alarming state of Western Medicine has affected his family and how Functional Medicine could have been the key to preventing that outcome.

    EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS
Jason's sister recently passed away due to Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer. The US spends more on healthcare than any other country in the world, but among developed countries, is at the bottom in terms of health outcomes. Functional Medicine aims to find the root cause of a disease or illness and focuses on Health Optimization. Integrative Medicine is when a clinician uses Traditional forms of Medicine along with others (e.g. Acupuncture, Massage, and Chiropractic). Wikipedia articles are not credible sources as they can be edited by anyone. Examples of Functional Medicine are the following: Jason interviewed a Podcast Guest who specializes in "Pharmacogenetics," studying how a person's genes impact how they respond to medications. Genova Diagnostics uses the "GI Effects Comprehensive Stool Profile" wherein patients send in stool samples and test for various indicators of gut health. Toxins in mattresses due to flame-retardants turn into carcinogenic gaseous vapors, which is an example of what Functional Medicine looks out for. Functional Medicine is newer, evolving, backed by legitimate studies, and is a great opportunity for clinicians who want to do Medicine right.
    3 KEY POINTS
Functional Medicine is a newer approach that addresses the root cause of diseases. Western Medicine has much room for improvement. Functional Medicine will greatly improve our Healthcare System in several years.

Websites like Yext create accounts using your business information and help your business appear on a variety of directories, some industry-specific, to gain more leads.  Using this method, the Ketamine Academy was shared on 79 different websites. You can input your biographies, top-selling products, phone numbers, business hours, email addresses, and probably the most potent, website addresses. Onsite SEO consists of header tags, image tags, title tags, good website load speeds for mobile devices, optimal file sizes, etc. Offsite SEO consists of backlinks - when another reputable site with high domain ranking links back to your site. The more links you have, the substantially higher probability of someone finding you when searching for a service you offer. #266: Using Innovative Technology in Healthcare to Improve Patient Care and Clinic Efficiency with Katherine Saunders

#266: Using Innovative Technology in Healthcare to Improve Patient Care and Clinic Efficiency with Katherine Saunders

    Obesity is a disease.
It's not just a lifestyle issue.

Jason A. Duprat, Entrepreneur, Healthcare Practitioner, and Host of the Healthcare Entrepreneur Academy podcast, sits down with Katherine Saunders, Co-Founder of Intellihealth, Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine, and Host of the Weight Matters Podcast. Join us in this episode as we debunk the long-standing stigma surrounding obesity and learn more about Katherine and Intellihealth's mission to bring accessible medical obesity care for all.

    EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS
Serving as a Primary Care physician, Katherine was overwhelmed with her patients' weight-related diseases which inspired her to pursue Obesity Medicine. Katherine's mentor had a predecessor company which she and her husband transitioned into Intellihealth, wherein they aim to democratize effective obesity treatment. Science and research show that obesity is a disease and not just a lifestyle issue. Physiological and pathophysiological changes occur with excess weight that make it very difficult to lose weight and easy to gain weight. Obesity Medicine is a newer field of medicine. There are only under 6,000 physicians who are certified in Obesity Medicine, which is astoundingly low considering how rampant obesity is in America. The cornerstone of the field is dietary strategies, physical activity, and behavioral change. Medications come in only after comprehensive evaluations and needs assessments. Katherine mentions the American Board of Obesity Medicine, Obesity Medicine Associate, and conferences available to learn more about the field. She works closely with Software Developers in Intellihealth, combining two vastly different fields to make Obesity Medicine more accessible for all. One of their goals is to break the stigma, to educate people that obesity is a disease and not dependent on willpower alone. JOIN OUR GIVEAWAY!
