An analysis of Hemingway's stories and novels based on my many years of reading and writing about Hemingway and teaching him to high school and college students. I'm a writer and educator who has presented many essays at international Hemingway conferences and published articles on the nuance and complexity of his work. I put special emphasis on how his work echoes thinkers like Carl Jung and Maurice Merleau-Ponty, paying little attention to the deeds and misdeeds of his life, trying to ignore the tremendous shadow these cast on his art. What a thorough analysis of the brilliance within this broken man. I can’t wait for more.
The background music choice :(
This is just my personal opinion but I couldn’t go on listening to this podcast (although I love Hemingway’s works and podcaster’s thorough analysis) because of the background music choice.. The classical piano pieces made everything too cold, detached and sad for me. I think if the music was a bit “warmer” it would have made listening more pleasant. Again, this is just my opinion.
