I came to this podcast recently, but went to the beginning and listened to all the hermeneutics episodes. Overall I found each one to spark interesting trains of thought. I'm excited that the show has shifted to engage with Hauerwas' work, and grateful for the opportunity to engage with his thought.

Love the podcast. Guests are amazing. But you can’t really say that you don’t use stained-glass language when you use words like “erudite.”

I just listened to the show on theodicy. I reminded me why reformed theology seems so popular to young evangelicals and why so many evangelicals love trump. There is a certain comfort to know the God controls everything. Even if in the end it makes God worse than the devil. Sometimes people find comfort in a dictator even if they are the cause of evil.

When culture takes religious terminology and distorts it to fit certain narratives it makes speaking “Christian” difficult. These three are working to create a better understanding to what things actually mean. Super thankful for the things I learn from these three weekly.

Johanna brings the perceptive voice of a rhetorician as she offers insight into the vocabulary of faith. Admittedly she must overcome the wit and occasional cynic in her co-hosts. Yet, she always prevails with an illumination angle that leaves the Crackers glad to be along for the pod. Subscribe and listen. You will be glad you did.

So excited that someone is tackling this topic. Look forward to each episode and learn a lot every time. This newest one was one of my favorites. Love the humor As well as the seriousness and reverence that they handle the topic with. Perfectly balanced

We've need Johanna on the C&GJ platform for quite sometime. Dr. Hartilleus offers a fresh perspective to the words we move past too quickly and have failed to use properly.

Some words get used badly or incompletely. I enjoyed this intelligent conversation that doesn't treat its audience like dummies but also doesn't assume we know the full meaning or implication of invoking a word. I look forward to more episodes.
