Talking Jung with Psychoanalyst Susan Meindl

Today Dimmer talks to Canadian psychologist and psychoanalyst, Susan Meindl about Jungian themes and Active Imagination. Q couldn't make this episode, but don't worry, he'll be back for the next. See below for details of Susan's presentation to the C G Jung Society of Montreal! Such Stuff as Dreams Are Made On: The Role of Fantasy in Jungian Life A lecture by Susan Meindl  Friday, April 12th  7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. (EDT) A short video clip about her presentation  https://youtu.be/w7bOW_Temg   Susan Meindl is a psychologist and psychoanalyst in private practice in Montreal, Canada   Active imagination is considered one of the “four pillars” of Jungian psychology. There are, however, many naturally and intuitively entered-into mental activities which draw on the same human capacities as active imagination, but without an intentional therapeutic effect. For individuals with a strong capacity for imagination, fantasy life can be alluring, treacherous and for some, addictive. What happens when active imagination escapes the analyst’s office and wanders around “wild” in the psychological world?  Jung was aware of some of the dangers, but he also felt that active imagination was a powerful adjunct to dreams as a way of connecting to deeper parts of ourselves, individuating and creating a living relationship with our unconscious. Please join me for this lecture and seminar in which we will explore some of the fascinating, and often revealing, aspects of fantasy and imagination.   Parallel Lives: Disorders and Delights of Fantasy and imagination A Seminar with Susan Meindl Saturday, April 13th.   1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. (EDT) Information and registration links sites.google.com/site/cgjungmontreal Susan Meindl, M.A., O.P.Q., c.o.Psychologist/PsychologueContact me: susan.meindl@gmail.com514 261-0591Read my articles on-line: http://ezinearticles.com/?expert_bio=Susan_Meindl Here's the 'grass roots' paper Dimmer couldn't remember the name of.
