    This week we were joined by Robyn Fleckenstein, the head coach of the Mount Royal University’s Women’s Basketball team since 2019. Robyn started her head coaching career at post-secondary with the ACAC’s Augustana Vikings from 2017 - 2019. Prior to coaching for the Vikings Robyn was an assistant coach for the University of Alberta Pandas for four season. Robyn is originally from Annapolis Valley, NS, playing for Acadia University.     S01E47 ; Off-season Series - Prepping the body for the season ahead

    Today we welcome our 3rd guest in Hold My Clipboard’s Offseason Series - Drew Stratton to talk injury prevention, recovering from injury, and off-season strength and conditioning. Drew joined us from Halifax where he is a Physiotherapist with Forte Physical Therapy. Drew also holds certification as a Strength and Conditioning Coach with NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association), and Clinical Exercise Physiologist with CSEP (Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology). Beyond being highly qualified Drew has an extensive basketball background, playing 5 years of USport at Dalhousie University (2003 - 2008), 2 years professionally in the Queensland Basketball League in Australia and in the National Basketball League of Canada. As well Drew has given back to the game at every stage, coaching every age group from U8 to U18, Provincial Team, Canada Games, and for the Special Olympics.     S01E44 - The Making of a Hall of Famer: Montana Romeril Smith's Basketball Journey

    Here we are at the start of June, and kicking off the summer by sitting down with Montana Smith, formerly Romeril. Montana compiled a laundry list (listed below) of individual accolades and team accomplishments during her time at St. Mary’s, leaving a wake of excellence when she finished playing in 2020. This year Montana was rightfully honored in the ACAC Hall of Fame, after a career that put the Lightning on the map. 

    Montana earned a Bachelor of Education and is currently a teacher in Calgary, and raising her own family in the city that was home to her illustrious ACAC career.
