Hope and Help For Fatigue & Chronic Illness

Welcome to the Hope and Help for Fatigue and Chronic Illness Podcast. It's our mission to help people that have some really complicated illnesses. People that have post viral syndrome like long COVID and ME/CFS or chronic fatigue. Those that have had toxic exposures like gulf war illness, mold exposures, pesticides and heavy metals. These illnesses can present very similarly, they can actually look the same to your clinician. You may have fatigue, post exertional malaise, foggy brain and many other symptoms that seem to be common across many illnesses. Underneath all of these illnesses, the causes of the symptoms are very similar. We know first hand how hard it is to get access to meaningful information and care when you find yourself or a loved one here. It is our hope to give you, bit by bit, the knowledge and ideas that we have seen make a positive impact on individuals just like you. And that you will take all those threads and begin to weave back together a healthier person. Brought to you by the Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine where we have over 200 years of combined clinical experience in Neuro-Inflammatory disease.
Truly a Hope Lifeline
28.07.2024
This podcast and all the wonderful doctors who have been interviewed have been a game changer for my sense of hope. The validation, the perspectives/framing, the work being done—all patient focused—are transformative. I appreciate the knowledge that the host brings to the table. I just wish she would interrupt less and allow the experts to talk more.
Two critiques
05.09.2024
1. The host shouldn’t interrupt as much. I have ME/CFS; I’m already exhausted. I don’t need a podcast host’s frenetic interruptions to make me feel even more exhausted. It’s gotten to where I can’t listen to this podcast during my really bad relapses. 2. The conversation needs to stay on topic. The latest episode about the interplay between the immune system and the nervous system hardly contains any info about the stated topic.
So grateful for this
30.06.2024
Thank you for providing this vital information for those of us with (often multiple) complex diseases that sadly most physicians are clueless about. My unrealistic wish is that this podcast be required listening for the whole medical profession, the vast majority of whom are dismissive to patients they don't know how to diagnose or treat. I recently had the good fortune of becoming a patient of Dr. Rey at INIM. You are all doing excellent work there. Thank you, and bravo!
Amazing resource

Thank you so much for creating this resource to get essential information to long covid patients like myself. I really enjoy the guests and info, but I do wish the host allowed the experts to speak more instead of interrupting. The episodes are short and I find myself wanting more, so it would be ideal to make the most of the time by asking targeted questions to stay on topic and allowing the experts to finish their answers. I appreciate her enthusiasm, but also find it a bit disregulating.
Excellent

So much good information! I highly recommend Listening!
Great guests, but…
26.05.2024
This podcast has great guests, but the host does so much of the talking (and interrupting) that I find it hard to listen to. I want to hear the expert guests answer questions without being interrupted. Also, in her excitement, she often asks them three complicated questions at once. Understand that your listeners are most often people who have these neuroimmune conditions and can’t process this rapid chatter and multi-directional questioning.
So much expertise!
24.05.2024
The quality of the guests on this show is top notch. They are experts in their field, sometimes the leading researcher/clinician in their area of expertise. One criticism is this podcast often stays at the surface level; there is a lot of warm chatting. They could make better use of their time and the knowledge in the room by either having a longer conversation or by focusing with discipline on dissemination of information to those with complex chronic illnesses.
Minus ➖ 1/4 Star
21.02.2024
A lot of good information. Love the format. Provides hope and concrete suggestions to help patients communicate with their doctors. - 1/4 star because some episodes come across as long intense infomercials for a product so many of us need, but cannot obtain for several reasons. The host is good, so optimistic enthusiastic a wonderful advocate. At times so enthusiastic she interrupts the guest making episode a bit frantic. LOVE THIS
Great Info
