Beautiful brave space!

As someone who works in the space around, trying to prevent terrorism and targeted violence prevention space, I’ve found this podcast invaluable. It’s been a great tool for hearing ways we can talk to each other to better understand each other and prevent conflict. Thank you so much for this incredible resource!
Excellent, uplifting information

We all need this - and are capable of so much more growth than we realize
Some helpful angles, but watered down

Too often in the dialogues presented here, there is confusion between what are “political opinions” and what is corrective to our country’s dehumanization of people(s). The consequence, for me, is that the conflicts discussed are diluted and oversimplified.
EDIFYING and INSPIRATIONAL

A BRAVER WAY is yet another Educational, Enlightening and Encouraging tool from BRAVER ANGELS to help us, as Citizens of our United States of America (and our world) to hear one another’s stories; stories that we have not personally lived but that help us to better understand experiences for which we might, otherwise, be totally ignorant. Thank you, Monica (and all your Guests!) for sharing these impactful life stories that help to open our minds and hearts to see one another with new understanding and empathy. 💕 A special “Thank You” for the expanded conversations you often have with you dear friend, April Lawson, of the ‘red’ persuasion. 😊 It’s great to hear the two of you talk through some of your differing perspectives!
What I needed
2024/08/29
I’ve been subscribed to this podcast for a while, but have avoided until now to start listening to it because it seemed like such an intellectual labor to contemplate not just the ‘how’ of trying to listen to people who don’t agree with me, but also the ‘why?’ I feel so heavy all the time because of the scary things that are happening in our country and world. I worry every day about what we are going to leave for my child and other children. But it turns out that listening to Monica consistently being able to talk about this and stay positive has had the effective lightening my spirits about this. It’s nice to have found a discussion and a population of people who have hope for the world. And it isn’t blindly just because optimism feels good. This kind of hope is rational and actionable. Thank you so much, Monica :-)
Thought-provoking and refreshing!

A Braver Way is thought-provoking and refreshing. The conversations are brave, open, often surprising, and essential.
Good show, but…

I appreciate the idea of this show and the execution, and the resulting thought that we can all survive together without having to hate everybody who disagrees with us. I wish there was an episode that described how to have a conversation with someone who, or an entire political party, who follows a man who has been documented to have lied 30,000 times while in office, has been indicted and convicted on 34 counts, and brings a lack of dignity and character to the office of the presidency. It’s very hard to see the viewpoint of someone who feels this way. Especially when there is documented, nonpartisan, undeniable proof of the lies that he has told. How do I make peace with someone who does no longer believe in truth or believe in science?
Excellent preparation for the 2024 election!

I’ve never liked politics and have been living in fear and dread about the 2024 election. This podcast has helped me to begin to feel some peace. I’ve also really enjoyed learning more about politics through his podcast. Something I never thought I would say! Thank you and keep up the excellent work!

April Lawson and Kelly Corrigan middling healthy dialogue with vulnerability and clarity. Excellent!
Hope

This. This is exactly what my soul has been seeking! A functional democracy requires compromise. And unless we stop demonizing and start seeing and hearing each other, compromise is impossible. This podcast gives me hope that we can steady the ship and help our country be the best that it can be.
