We are joined by MSG Chris Spence, US Army (Ret.), who was part of an elite Army Green Beret unit that covertly entered Afghanistan one month after the 9/11 attacks. The actions of the Special Forces team Spence served with are portrayed in a book and film, "12 Strong," starring Chris Hemsworth, from the book "Horse Soldiers” by Doug Stanton. Spence captured the famous viral photo used by former Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld, to show the world that American Special Forces were on the ground in Afghanistan and on horseback.
