The Community Solar Project in Nova Scotia is Canada's first subscription-based community solar program. Since its launch in March 2024, academics, industry, and the public have received it well. The program aims to increase solar energy access to communities and individuals by allowing them to participate in and benefit from generating renewable electricity. Approved project owners receive a 25-year power purchase agreement with Nova Scotia Power, and subscribers receive a two-cent per kilowatt hour solar energy credit on their electricity bill. Resources and information about the program can be found on the program's webpage and through the Community Solar Program Guide.
