What Really Matters with Walter Russell Mead
Walter Russell Mead, a historian, pundit, and popular author, is encyclopedic about politics, culture, and history. On What Really Matters, Mead and Tablet deputy editor Jeremy Stern help you understand the news, decide what news matters and what doesn’t, and enjoy following the story of America and the world more than you do now. Jeremy and WRM rock my worldview

Every week I look forward to this podcast. It offers a centrist examination of the news and the week’s most talked about topic in the MSM. Love this!
Great but too short

I think this is a great podcast and it offers a smart, centrist analysis of current events that is so often missing in American politics. My only problem with it is that it’s a bit too short, and sometimes Mead tosses out some big ideas without really explaining what he means or giving specific examples.
Smart

WRM’s take on political intrigues, electoral shenanigans, diplomacy, and what and why it matters, is moves ahead on the global chessboard. To the point. Concise, pithy without being disrespectful. A great reality check!
No pushback

I don’t understand how you can call this “a conversation” when Jeremy does not participate. There is never any pushback, even on sometimes ridiculously false claims. The show would be so much better if the points of view were challenged here and there.
