Once it is on it's on 03:58 - Adjust your indicator so that it allows you to fish 1.5 to 2 times the depth of the water. Using one like Pam can save you a lot of time. Just remember to wipe off the excess 01:10 – Chapstick is another great remedy. Apply to your guides often as it wears off 01:30 – Keep reapplying cooking spray and chapstick when needed 01:40 - Silicone spray could be more of a permanent solution that I haven't tried. That means you'll have the whole stream to yourself 01:20 – Colton is a talented fly fishermen 01:28 – He's been trying for ages to get me to come up to New York and fish steelhead with him. Then Nate tries to make a funny joke 01:40 – Tip #1 - Big fish like baitfish 02:02 – Do not tread on the redd. Redds are nesting areas for spawning trout and are easily seen. They are patches cleared of stones and rocks that expose the light colored bottom of the stream. Most of the time it is a near circle or oval 02:30 – Migrating fish are more territorial so this is a perfect chase to toss big boy streamers. Winter is tough and requires more discipline. But, it is highly rewarding and can produce a lot of fish for you. Explore the whole stream and maximize your day. 03:45 - Tip #3 - Be the delivery guy. If your flies are being swept downstream quickly, add more weight. 04:00 – Find that happy medium.
