AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (ASD) is a bio-neurological difference in which the brain is wired differently in autistic adults. People on the spectrum have variations in processing of data in the brain which is stronger in some areas and weaker in some areas than Neurotypical persons. They neither are better nor worse but simply different. They experience the world differently. Men are four times more prone to autism than women. But women are more severely affected if on a spectrum.

    Schooling for Autistic Child

    We can say that the triangle of parent-child and the therapist is essential. There should be a strong, effective collaboration between teachers and parents for the betterment of the child. Early interventions and understanding the child’s differences and accepting them is very important. Schooling is very important for the child on the spectrum. It can be part-time schooling for two to four hours, but it will open a new horizon for the child.

    How to Discipline Autistic Child for Hitting

    Autistic Children cannot express themselves as normal kids and therefore they take their frustration out in many ways. Sometimes they behave very aggressively towards a person, situation or even themselves. They may kick and throw objects and hurt themselves or others. At school they may get so aggressive sometimes that they hit their teachers or the staff at school and they just get out of control. Headbanging and throwing things at others are observed in Autistic Children. These children don’t express anger, fear, anxiety and frustration like normal children. Mostly their hitting behavior is a way of self-defense. Autistic Children Show aggression, harm themselves, their teachers, siblings and people interacting with them due to multiple reasons. Autism Aggression Reasons They do not understand the situation or whatever is happening around them. They do not get the idea of what people are trying to say and non-verbal communication. They cannot convey their message. They cannot communicate their needs and wants. They cannot express which activity they want to perform, and which irritate them, which object they want at a specific time. They are very anxious and confused.
