How Wild
How Wild hits trails around the country, exploring the meaning of wilderness. A century ago, the U.S. set aside the first official wilderness. You'll hear stories from rangers, scientists, hikers, environmentalists, and Tribal leaders as they grapple with the realities of wilderness on a changing planet, and whether the concept of "wilderness" has ever really existed.
Must listen for all outdoor enthusiasts

This podcast came up as suggested near my regular NPAD (National Parks After Dark). I love this How Wild series and we need their recommendations for when there are not new episodes!
Wild Conjecture

I listened to the episode on Solitude and was somewhat enjoying it until the script went off on some “wild” conjecture of what solitude is, how solitude was defined, and who solitude is for. The definition of solitude does not change based on anyone’s ethnicity. Everyone needs solitude. Everyone needs to rejoice in solitude. Such rejoicing breaks out in exuberance sometimes. Headwaters produced by Glacier National Park does a vastly superior job of communicating the real challenges we face in wilderness places.
Love it!

I’m a tree hugging wilderness lover who’s sometimes a little exasperated with the hand-wringing around climate change. I really appreciate the nuance and perspectives brought into this show.
