Apology Letter After Setting the World on Fire - (figurative, figurative, always figurative, obviously, duh, but, you know.) - Part 1

Your support keeps the magic alive, and you’ll make me go like this: 💃🏻🥳🙌🏼🎉🕺🚀 Author’s Note: What It Means to Be In Conversation with Another Poet: Poets have a long tradition of responding to, riffing on, or being inspired by each other’s work. Sometimes, this is marked with the word after in the title—meaning the poem isn’t a copy or a rewrite, but rather a creative response, written in the poet’s own words. It might echo a theme, borrow a rhythm, or explore a similar feeling from a new angle. Think of it like jazz improvisation—one musician plays a riff, and another picks it up, twists it, and makes it their own. Or like leaving a note in the margins of a beloved book, except instead of the margins, it’s a brand-new poem. It’s a way of keeping the artistic conversation alive, across time, space, and imagination. Hope you enjoyed it! Who Am I Anyway?

Happy New Year to my sensational subscribers! As we turn the page to a fresh year, I want to pause and thank you for being here—for showing up, for reading, for watching, for replying to my emails with kind words, for creating alongside me in your own unique way. Your presence in this space makes it more alive, more meaningful, and endlessly inspiring. Wanna a swell way to cap off the year? Support your friendly, compulsive creator (that’s me!) for only 7 bucks a month. How to Love the World is a reader-supported publication. Thank you oodles of poodles! 🐩🐩🐩 2025 is our canvas, waiting for bold strokes, quiet moments of reflection, and everything in between. This year, let’s promise to trust ourselves a little more, to lean into the beauty of imperfection, and to create not what we think “they” want but what we want, need, and enjoy because it fills us up with life. My wish for you is this: May you embrace your wild ideas, chase what lights you up, and remember that it’s crucial to pause and breathe. 🌬️Let’s make space for both growth and rest (I keep telling myself😛), for daring greatly and for simply being. Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Let’s make 2025 a year of feeling deeply, creating unapologetically, and exploring the world with open hearts and curious minds. Love each other to the moon and back. 🌝 XO,Annie P.S. Don’t wait for the perfect moment- it’s already here.
