We are launching ongoing miniseries: STL Neighborhoods. We have 79 of them in St. Louis City. How were they formed? Where are they located? How did they get their names? We have a lot of questions. Join Matthew and Lucas as they try to learn as much as they can about the city we live in neighborhood by neighborhood.
This first episode is about Marine Villa in the southern area of the city. Midtown (central) will be the next neighborhood, followed by Vandeventer. After these first three are completed will choose the neighborhood by a randomization app.

Introducing STL Neighborhoods
Why do we have 79 neighborhoods in St. Louis? When did they form? How did they earn their names? How do you even make a neighborhood?
These are just some of the questions we'll explore in our new miniseries: STL Neighborhoods.
Each St. Louis neighborhood will get its own episode. But as we learn more we'll publish additional or supplemental episodes as well.
The first three neighborhoods are:
Marine Villa (South)
Midtown (Central)
Vandeventer (North)
After those three episodes are done we will use a randomizer to pick the rest. Don't worry, though, we will continue our normal episodes as usual this miniseries. This miniseries is another way we can give you more material from Blinders Off.
Join us as we explore the neighborhoods of St. Louis City!

Insufferable
I’m giving this 5 stars due to the research and production quality. However, the one host (Matthew?) came off as as particularly sanctimonious in the two-part series about the veiled prophet. I got the impression that he was bound and determined to show how enlightened he personally was, especially in comparison to the St Louis elite. BTW, I am from Pittsburgh and I have no stake whatsoever in the Veiled Prophet brand and the very first time that I ever heard of VP was a few months ago. I almost turned off the podcast a few times because the hosts really annoyed me with their enthusiasm over demonstrating the political incorrectness of VP. They overused the word “problematic.”
Good stuff
I always like learning about my hometown and these guys find all the good, weird, surprisingly relevant stories about St Louis. Looking forward to more episodes.
Fascinating and Well Written Production
I was recommended to this podcast by a friend and boy, I am glad I subscribed. The stories are St. Louis centric and delve into some very interesting aspects of the area. I have learned a lot about what makes this city tick and how it's history has shaped current problems and traditions.
The production itself is top quality and well edited. This is a real gem!
