Author Jennifer S Holland talks about Dogs and their Intelligence

You may know of National Geographic writer Jennifer S. Holland, the author of Unlikely Friendships which spent more than 46 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. Her new book is Dog Smart: Life-Changing Lessons in Canine Intelligence, a cutting-edge science narrative, chock-full of heartwarming case studies, that is Holland’s quest to learn the true meaning of dog intelligence.

“In this winning report, Holland (Unlikely Friendships), a former National Geographic journalist, investigates what goes on in dogs’ minds….The mix of scientific research and reporting comes together to offer enlightening insight into canines’ “social and olfactory intelligence.” This is a treat.” Publishers Weekly review

“Dog Smart shows that even people can be smart—if we pay attention to our dogs. It also shows what a wonderful and graceful writer Jennifer Holland is. Holland knows a lot about how dogs think. She knows what your dog would like you to know, about how you and your dog can live your best life together.”—Carl Safina, author of Alfie and Me: What Owls Know, What Humans Believe

Nick Stahl of Terminator and Fear The Walking Dead

Nick Stahl of Terminator and Fear The Walking Dead

Today on The Storehouse Media Podcast, Sherrie Clark and Neil "The Media Giant" Haley of The Neil Haley Show interview Nick Stahl.

Nick Stahl was born in Harlingen, Texas on December 5, 1979, to Donna Lynn, a brokerage assistant, and William Kent Stahl, a businessman. After his mother took him to see a children's play at the age of four, Nick confidently declared that acting would be his future. Commercials and community plays followed, two television movies were also released in the early 90s. The breakthrough he needed came next when he starred alongside Mel Gibson, who hand-selected Nick for the role, in The Man Without a Face (1993). Nick played Chuck, the little boy who befriends a stranger that was disfigured in an accident. At age 17 he was cast in Disturbing Behavior (1998) and the ensemble film The Thin Red Line (1998), which was nominated for Best Picture by the Academy Awards. He has continued to find success with acting, and though he has been featured in major studio productions he is still, to date, more widely known for his edgier and darker indie film roles.

Rachel Whittle Filmmaker of The Purge and NCIS New Orleans

Rachel Whittle Filmmaker of The Purge and NCIS New Orleans

Today on The Neil Haley Show, Neil "The Meda Giant" Haley and Sherrie Clark of The Storehouse Media Group interview Rachel Whittle.

Rachel Guidry Whittle is known for The Purge, The Thing about Pam, NCIS New Orleans, and Girls Trip. She was born and raised in the heart of Cajun country, Lafayette, Louisiana. And while she entered the industry later than some, she formed a love for storytelling early in life. Growing up, Rachel's father would teach her through telling stories rather than just making statements. This was when she learned first-hand the power stories have to teach lessons, provide escapes, and form connections. Years later, these gifts that storytelling offers to the world would pull her into the entertainment industry.

Ever versatile, she loves working behind the camera just as much as in front and firmly believes in helping wherever needed when on set. Because of this, Rachel has expanded her knowledge of the various roles on set and now does work as a filmmaker, such as directing and producing. Some of her favorite adventures in the filmmaking arena have come from a comedy sketch filmmakers' troupe she is a part of called A Dangerous Flock.

Rachel's love lies in authentic storytelling, whether in front of the camera or behind it. She says it best, "My favorite thing about filmmaking is that it requires collaboration. No one can do any of this on their own. It takes a beautiful mesh of minds to make it work."
