#2 Our thermochromic smart window outperforms all other energy efficient glazing

In this Podcast Astrid will be talking to Daniel about his recently published building energy simulation study. This study shows that the thermochromic smart window outperforms all other glazing systems in all intermediate climates, such as the Netherlands, and can lead to annual cost savings of up to 638 euro per household.

Daniel Mann is Scientist at Brightlands Materials Center and TNO and Astrid Verberne is Community Manager at the Brightlands Chemelot Campus.

    #1 Our thermochromic smart window

    #1 Our thermochromic smart window

Daniel Mann, Scientist at Brightlands Materials Center and TNO, developed, together with his team, a thermochromic smart window. This smart window autonomously changes its solar heat gain depending on the glazing temperature.  It enables using solar heat for heating a building in cold conditions and it shuts out solar heat in warm conditions, to increase comfort and reduce cooling demand. #energyreduction #CO2emission #smartwindow
