Husband and Wife are two non-believers who have always wanted to read the Bible. Why would we subject ourselves to this you might ask? From our perspective it helps us understand where the Christians around us, here in the Midwest, are coming from when they quote the Bible at us. Husband is basically an Atheist and wife leans Agnostic but mostly Atheist and we’re just having some fun at the Bible’s expense while learning more about what our neighbors claim we’re going to hell over.

Lamentations Chapter 3: Bible Study BY Atheists

Lamentations Chapter 3: Bible Study BY Atheists

Strap in, heathens and skeptics! This week, we're diving headfirst into the biblical belly of the beast with our latest episode, "Lamentations Chapter 3" Your irreverent hosts, with tongues firmly planted in cheeks, are taking you on a whirlwind tour of the highs (are there any?) and lows (oh, so many) of one of the Bible's most depressingly poetic rants. It's a no-holds-barred takedown where divine wrath and human misery are served up with a side of sarcasm and a sprinkle of existential dread.
Join us as we navigate the murky waters of Lamentations 3, where God's love language seems to include a little too much smiting for comfort. We'll dissect the oddly phallic imagery of divine punishment and marvel at the masochistic streak that has worshippers coming back for more, even when it sounds like a toxic relationship 101. Can we get a collective eye-roll for the divine-human paradox, please?
Our snark-o-meter is cranked to the max as we ask the hard-hitting questions: Why does the Almighty's "tough love" look suspiciously like an abuser's playbook? And what's with the biblical penchant for misery and rods? Is it divine inspiration, or just men projecting their issues in high-definition?
In this episode, we pull no punches. We dissect the relationship dynamics between humanity and a seemingly cruel deity, poking fun at the enduring love for a heavenly father figure who apparently missed the memo on "do no harm." We'll look at Jeremiah's penchant for dramatic monologues and how his self-pity party might just be the ancient equivalent of subtweeting.
Get ready for a podcast full of heretical hilarity and scriptural satire as we challenge the portrayal of God in ancient texts and the blind loyalty of His fan club. If you've ever wondered what a therapy session for deities might look like, or how to craft the perfect prayer for the vengeful, this is the podcast episode for you. Remember, laughter is the best medicine, especially when the prognosis is biblical bleakness.
So, download, tune in, and prepare to laugh until you cry, or cry until you laugh – it's all the same in Lamentations Chapter 3. Don't forget to like, subscribe, and offer a sacrifice of five stars to appease the podcasting gods. Because, let's face it, we could all use a little divine favor... or at least a good chuckle.

Lamentations Chapter 2: Bible Study BY Atheists

Lamentations Chapter 2: Bible Study BY Atheists

Welcome back to another irreverent romp through the Bible with your favorite godless duo on Sacrilegious Discourse. In todays episode, we tackle the trauma-inducing pages of Lamentations Chapter 2, because who doesn't love a good dose of ancient misery with their morning coffee? Grab your glitter gel pens and your tear buckets; it's about to get biblically bleak.
We dive into a world where God is less "shepherd" and more "slasher film villain," leaving us to ponder if Jerusalem's got it worse than a prom queen in a Stephen King novel. You'll hear us dissect the fine art of cannibalism, as casually mentioned in sacred scripture, because apparently, divine wrath isn't complete without a dash of mothers dining on their darlings.
Delight in our discomfort as we grapple with images so dark they'd make Edgar Allan Poe say, "Chill out, Bible, you're trying too hard." And, just when you thought it couldn't get any cheerier, we address the laughably tragic irony of "the Lord's fighting hand" that seems to have ghosted Jerusalem faster than a Tinder date after a bad hookup.
But fear not, dear heathens, we're not all doom and gloom. Our trademark humor is the life raft in this sea of scriptural sorrow, because if we can't laugh at the prospect of celestial abandonment and prophetic failures, what can we laugh at?
Tune in and witness our live Sunday special at 3 pm Eastern Time, where we promise more giggles and less godly genocide. It's like a book club, but with less Oprah and more outrage. Join us as we try to make sense of the senseless, question the unquestionable, and maybe—just maybe—find a silver lining in this cloud of divine rage (spoiler: we won't).
Remember to like, subscribe, and say ten "Hail Darwins" for every share. Until next time, keep your faith in humanity, because it's the only one that hasn't forsaken us yet. Catch you on the blasphemous side, where the only thing we're loyal to is logic.

Lamentations Chapter 1: Bible Study BY Atheists

Lamentations Chapter 1: Bible Study BY Atheists

Get ready for an irreverent dive into the world of biblical moaning with your favorite godless guides in "Lamentations Chapter 1" We're kicking off our snark-filled journey through the tear-stained pages of the Book of Lamentations, and spoiler alert: there's a whole lot of wailing going on.
In this episode, we'll decode the dramatic elegies of Jerusalem's epic fail and dissect the heavy dose of guilt-tripping served up by the ancient scribes. Think of it as a self-help book, but instead of helping, it just keeps reminding you how everything went to hell in a handbasket. We'll explore the oh-so-poetic reflections on grief, from metaphorical tainted women to the oh-so-original concept of "it's all our fault." Strap in as we bring our unique atheist perspective to this biblical sob-fest, questioning the need for all the self-flagellation and wondering if this could be the world's first recorded instance of a pity party.
As your intrepid hosts, we're not afraid to mix ancient texts with modern tech. We'll even show you how to hit those lofty reading goals by counting every chapter of the Bible as a separate book—take that, Goodreads challenges! And don't worry, we'll do it all with the help of Libby because who doesn't love free audiobooks (especially when they're this full of despair)?
So whether you're here for theological thrills or just to hear us poke fun at the melodrama of yesteryear, this episode is bound to deliver. Tune in to "Lamentations Chapter 1" and witness the spectacle of a city crying itself a river while we try not to drown in all the tears. It's biblical critique with a side of sass, and it's only on our podcast, where we make reading the good book a helluva lot more entertaining.

Jeremiah Contradictions: Bible Study BY Atheists

Jeremiah Contradictions: Bible Study BY Atheists

Hold onto your atheist hats and grab a stiff drink because in this rib-tickling episode of "Jeremiah Contradictions," we're diving headfirst into the Bible's biggest bloopers. We’re not prophets, but we predict a lot of facepalming as we navigate the treacherous waters of scriptural inconsistencies. Get ready for a biblical blooper reel that would make even the most devout scratch their heads and wonder if the Almighty needs a better editor.
Join us as we put the 'fun' in fundamentalism and tackle the divine comedy of errors. We'll explore the emotional whiplash of a God who can't decide if he's wrathful or merciful. Spoiler alert: He's both, depending on which verse you cherry-pick. We'll dissect the divine mood swings from Psalms to Jeremiah that'll have you questioning if the Big Guy upstairs needs a celestial therapist. Is God's wrath as fleeting as our interest in kale diets, or does it endure like our love for memes? The Bible says, "Why not both?"
Next up, we'll ponder the peculiarities of biblical hospitality. Leviticus says to love thy stranger, but Numbers is all about that cold shoulder action. What happened to divine consistency? We'll also scrutinize the perplexing prosperity of the wicked, the question of free will, and the existence of other gods. Prepare for a theological rollercoaster that the Bible itself can't even follow.
Don't miss our segment on the supposed 70-year Babylonian timeout that's shorter than a millennial's attention span according to actual history. And we'll laugh our way through the contradiction conga line of how to treat the Ammonites – is it peace and love, or smite and shove?
Wrapping up our jaunt through Jeremiah, we'll set the stage for Lamentations, because if there's anything more fun than contradictions, it's lamenting them. Tune in to "Jeremiah Contradictions" for a holy heap of heresy, humor, and a helluva good time questioning ancient texts. This episode is so irreverent, it might just get us smited – if we weren't already on the Big Man's naughty list.
Remember, this podcast is the one place where being always wrong is always right. Subscribe, blaspheme with us, and leave your morals at the door – you won't be needing them here.

Jeremiah Wrap Up: Bible Study BY Atheists

Jeremiah Wrap Up: Bible Study BY Atheists

Get ready to raise your goblets of skepticism as we toast to the end of our biblical bender with the prophet of doom, Jeremiah! In this no-holds-barred episode, we're waving goodbye to good ol' Jeremiah and his rollicking rollercoaster ride through prophecy, exile, and the divine dramedy of ancient Judah. This is "Jeremiah Wrap Up" – the podcast episode where we unravel the tangled mess of edits, additions, and divine threats that somehow constitute the book of Jeremiah.
As self-appointed apostles of atheism, we've dutifully slogged through 52 chapters of fire-and-brimstone tirades and unearthed the so-called 'wisdom' that Jeremiah served up to the Jews in Babylon. It's a tale of idol-worshipping baddies, geopolitical soap operas, and a God who has a penchant for overreacting. So buckle up, non-believers, as we dive headfirst into the good book’s saga of celestial temper tantrums and mortals just trying to catch a break.
From the ashes of Assyria's fall to the not-so-surprising rise of Babylon, we've dissected the supposed prophecies of Jeremiah and held them up to the harsh light of historical scrutiny. Spoiler alert: When you're the bearer of bad news in ancient times, you get a book named after you! And, of course, what's a Jeremiah jamboree without mentioning the Deuteronomist fan club and their penchant for historical revisionism?
Did we mention the trivia challenge? That's right; we're testing your recall of all things Jeremiah with a pop quiz that's more challenging than explaining the plot of Lost. It's the perfect chance to show off your biblical book smarts or just play along and laugh at our attempts to remember which king set the parchment ablaze (because who doesn't love a little bit of light sacrilege with their sacred texts?).
As we lay Jeremiah to rest, we reflect on his forty years of biblical buzzkill that have shaped the Judeo-Christian narrative – kind of like Moses, but with less parting seas and more tearing robes. And if you think this is where the contradictions end, think again! We've got a teaser for our upcoming "You're Always Wrong" episode that promises to dissect the discrepancies with the glee of a kid at a skeptics' summer camp.
So, if you've been dying to get the dirt on ancient idols, the headaches of exile, and prophecies that are about as clear as mud, you're in the right place. Thanks for joining us on this irreverent romp through religious history – your company has been more delightful than a Canaanite wine festival. Don't miss out on the next leg of our godless journey through the Bible. It's going to be epic, or at least epically snarky.

Game girl 09 ,

Great podcast!!

Husband and Wife do a great job of making the bible not so boring. I have started reading the Bible several times, but always got too bored and annoyed to keep going. Wife’s reading and narration skills, including funny voices, keep me interested in what’s happening. Husband’s jokes are right on par with my sense of humor so I feel right at home. I also like the fact that they call out the garbage, hypocrisy, and unrealistic nonsense. (I mean a talking donkey, seriously, this book is clearly a fairytale) if Husband and Wife can make it though the whole Bible I will be right there with them until the end!

They make it fun

Wish they were around to help me slog through one of the worst small book groupings ever. So far. Deserves negative reviews.

Atheist bible study ripoff

Honestly,
Listen to atheist bible study. Much better. Not sure which one is ripping off the other one. But this one got annoying real quick. And the adds are insufferable.
