Awesome new podcast!

The Your Morning Coffee weekly newsletter is already a necessity, but now being able to hear the news-you-need in this podcast format just kicks it up many notches! Great to hear the conversation delving deeper into the weeks' top stories. Well done!

Great if Extremely Limited and Out of Touch

If you want to stay up to date on what’s happening in the music industry strictly from the major label perspective, this is absolutely the best you will find. I’m subscribed to most music business podcasts and the first hand knowledge these guys have is unparalleled. So why not give them a better rating? Because the major label perspective is increasingly becoming less relevant in the broad scope of the industry as a whole. While far from from being irrelevant, the majors seem more interested in keeping their power and influence than actually competing. And that’s where most of the problematic content of this podcast comes from, long diatribes defending that outdated perspective.

Subscribing to Your Morning Coffee will help you keep up to date with the moves and news inside the large corporate deals and laws surrounding the music industry. In exchange you will have to listen to hours of arguments in defense of billion dollar companies pushing to pay smaller artists who are out-competing them a lot less. Over time it get grating and feels like propaganda by and for people who have never struggled or had to invest their own money in an arts career but that is who they are and this podcast is free so its a real take-it-or-leave-it situation. It’s worth the trade off to me but your results may vary.
