Beau Collins: Influence, selection, and important lessons for the next generation.

In this seventh episode I sat down with a good friend and mentor of mine.  Beau Collins is a police sergeant, and former US Army Special Forces weapon's sergeant.  In this installment, Beau and I talk about those influences that drove him as a young soldier as well as those experiences that formed him into the leader he is today.  We explored how one's reputation lay the foundation not only for their accomplishments in the past, but for their ability to remain relevant as a leader in the present.  Finally we will wrap up with some discussion about Booger the Bigfoot, and the importance of finding the motivation to pursue your dreams.

    Greg Crane: Raising ALICE

In this fifth episode I connected via cell phone with Greg Crane who is the co-founder of the ALICE workplace violence response model.  In the wake of the Columbine High School tragedy of 1999 Greg, who's wife was an education professional herself, began to look at the deficiencies in the emergency response protocols that were being taught to our nations grade school employees and ultimately those children under their care.  After careful research, and multiple revisions with the help of his wife Lisa, the ALICE workplace violence response model was born.  In this installment Greg talks about his motivation, how the mind-set shift in response was made possible through collaborative efforts with America's police and educational professionals, and life on his ranch.

Eye opening.

I can across this podcast looking for the closest RedRobin to get a cheeseburger. Somehow Siri came up with Perspectives on Learning. Let’s just say I never made it dinner because I pulled over and listened. Immediately I was engrossed. I was also pretty hungry and but this was worth listening to. I have never been accused of being a good learner or and adult for that matter! Many times in my life , my past has kept me from achieving things. I still can’t get within 300 yards of a school and also have been banned from online and remote learning. Yeah I made a few mistakes when I was younger but I am a new man now. I needed guidance. I have found what I am looking for here. I will be anxiously awaiting the next episode. Thank you Kenny for helping me, I am on the right path now. I think I live pretty close to you and would love to get coffee. Sorry, I looked you up and was shocked to see just how close we are. Let me know! Keep it up!

Great Podcast!

If you have ever wondered how a man can make his way from a life of juvenile delinquency and working the coal mines of eastern Kentucky to a west coast podcaster and sought after instructor you have come to the right place. This is definitely not Kenny’s life story but if Kenny met this guy he definitely wow you with the way his questions and conversations shed a whole new light on life and ways that you can become a better instructor by delving into the success of others. This podcast should be on any instructors list of podcast subscriptions.
