Trigger warning but my entire show is a trigger warning. Really anything can be a trigger for someone evening cracking a can. It’s hard to put trigger warnings on my episodes because of that very reason. Please when listening to my show if you hear us laughing it’s because it’s a beautiful thing to find light in our darkness. Dean and I both recently lost our fathers so we trauma bond over that. He’s in the middle of doing a taper with his drinking. He recently lost his job as an engineer and also going through a divorce. He has a lot going on in his life currently but he’s being optimistic about everything!

The one when we celebrate 4 years sober!!
Today has been four whole years without a drink for Mykee and me! We quit a couple weeks before lockdowns happened in 2020. What makes our date even more special its because its a leap day so we only really get to celebrate once every four years.

The one when Natasha uses shadow work in her recovery
Natasha has different dates she has for different milestones in her recovery. We go through her history of discovering alcohol and drugs at a relatively young age. She is all about shadow work in her recovery. She’s still learning how to feel her feelings. Today she has one year sober from alcohol and just hit 10 years from suboxone and a whole slew of different pills!

On January 3rd 2024 Stacy celebrated 5 years clean and sober! Born and raised in Mass her story is a lot like mine as we both started drinking alcoholicly at an early age. She soon discovered drugs when she was in High School. We talk about her first time getting clean for her kids. This time shes doing it for herself!

Ginny has one of the best glow ups I have ever seen! We discuss how she ended up looking in the before to how she ended up a college graduate from University of Washington. She now gives back to especially the incarcerated community to have a second (or their third, fourth and fifth) chance in life.

Excellent experience
I met JD recently on tiktok. I am thankful to have crossed his path. JD is such a great host, he is hilarious and easy to talk with. He also has a huge heart under his laughs and it shows in all of his episodes. JD is helping to change the way we’ve traditionally seen recovery in the past and highlighting so many unique paths to sobriety in his episodes. He’s been great at bringing community together. JD shows he is actively doing the work along with his guests. He’s truly been a blessing to my recovery and healing.

Recovery rockstar is what JD portrays as he helps people all across the world (yes worldwide!) talk through there stories about suffering at the hands of addiction and trauma where eventually they will come out on the other side and come into the light and into a life of recovery and sobriety! I had the pleasure of coming on JDs show to share my story of addiction and recovery and it’s so great what he is doing out there for the recovery scene with his podcast and his own recovery center!
