215. 3 Barriers To Parenting Sensitive Kids Consistently
You try so hard to be a great parent, don't you?
You read all the books, listen to the podcasts, join Facebook groups...
You soak up every tip and trick to help your sensitive child stop melting down.
And sometimes those strategies work - for a little while at least.
For a week or two, your child is calmer and more in control of their big emotions.
You breathe that sigh of relief, thinking you've finally cracked the code.
But then, almost as quickly as the progress came, it's gone again.
The meltdowns return, and you're back at square one, feeling defeated.
Why does this keep happening?
Why can't you find something that actually sticks?

214. How To Have Faith A Sensitive Child Will Stop Their Meltdowns
You walk on eggshells, don't you?
Holding your breath until your sensitive child gets home from school...
Bracing for the emotional tsunami that'll come crashing through the door at 3pm.
You ask an innocent question like, "What snack would you like?"
And just like that, the dam breaks.

1.4 million children in the US have an anxiety disorder today.
Young adults are adding 'anxious' to their identity to overcompensate for lack of emotion regulation skills in childhood.
Listen in on my Instagram LIVE to discuss how we can support our sensitive kids in learning emotional intelligence skills without carrying their anxiety around like a pet by the time they hit their 20's.

211. Discover the Science of Highly Sensitive Children
I was recently interviewed by Miriam Fernández, Co-founder & Co-director
Nirakara Mindfulness Institute, located in Spain.
I had a lot of fun exploring The Science of Highly Sensitive Children ("La ciencia de los niños altamente sensibles").
We shed light on the history behind the study of sensitivity and provide valuable insights on how to support and nurture these extraordinary children.
Please note that while the interview is spoken in English, the video has been transcribed in Spanish, ensuring that language will not be a barrier to accessing this valuable information.
I encourage you to listen!

210. Sensitive Kids With Test Anxiety
Let's be honest for a moment, shall we?
As a parent, you dream of your child’s success, their happiness, and a future filled with endless possibilities.
Yet, if your kid is struggling with test anxiety, I bet you wonder how long it will take to get your kid to stop putting so much pressure on themselves.
The knot in your stomach as you watch your child crumble under the weight of their worries,
Their confidence shattered,
Their potential obscured by the dark clouds of doubt doesn’t help, does it?

Sales pitch
Lots of examples of problems; zero concrete advice except to hire her. Maybe useful if you want to understand your already diagnosed HSC’s mental patterns? But not if you want to help them. That wouldn’t be a problem, except that the summary and intro to each episode imply that there will be practical advice, I cannot stress enough how devastating it is to reach the end of each episode, over and over, and realize it’s just a sales pitch. Given how traumatic is to parent and HSC without support, this marketing approach feels unnecessarily cruel. I have been turned off this coach completely, and really hope she will clarify her materials in the future.
Not helpful
I reached out to this program for help with my HSC. I was ready to learn this miraculous method to help me become a better parent, only to be turned away due to a history of trauma for my HSC. When I pushed back and asked questions as to why they didn’t feel they could help me suddenly no one would respond to my emails.
My Relationship with my HSC is Transformed
I feel blessed to have found this podcast and program. After reviewing books, quick tips, friends & family advice, therapy, feeling “not enough” - it was time to hire a professional to help guide my steps in parenthood as it concerned my HSC. Raising kids is no easy undertaking & more challenging when you feel lost and want to do your best in raising an emotionally intelligent child. Working with Megghan, I discovered the true meaning of jumping in with both feet & facing the tough parts of connecting with my kid, myself & parenting from a place of confidence & love - especially when it was hard. My daughter has learned how to express herself without explosions and comes to me when she’s unsure. She is at peace and I could’ve never imagined this happening at such a rapid rate without the skillful knowledge Megghan infused into our routine. Reading books and looking for quick tips isn’t the most effective strategy. As a single mom, investing in our relationship was a million percent worth every single penny. We’ll carry these mind-blowing life lessons forever. If you’re tired of things that don’t work, I encourage you to consider working one on one with Megghan to experience the gift of peace I describe. 🙌🏼
