Horrible audio ruins good show
I’m always astounded when a podcast doesn’t make an effort to have the best sound possible. I mean, what is one of the top 2 most important elements of a successful audio podcast if not AUDIO?
A lot of times it’s because the guest doesn’t bother to have a proper headset or mic or they don’t manage to balance the audio levels of different speakers. With this podcast though, they have a completely different issue. I’m not a tech so I can’t tell for sure but something in the audio processing causes the levels to jump from moment to moment. Soft sounds are barely heard and then a syllable is stressed and it’s uncomfortably loud. It all adds up to an annoying experience.
I’m really disappointed because compact has conversations I want to listen to. I wish there was some sort of podcasting group that set standards for members to follow or at least to understand so they could produce listenable episodes.
The radio industry did it so why no podcasting?
