Jane Stanford Part 1 of 2

Jane Stanford Part 1 of 2

Episode 38 Jane Stanford Part 1 of 2

Jane Stanford, co-founder of Stanford University, died on her Hawaii vacation in 1905 after drinking from a bottle of mineral water that had been laced with pure strychnine. The university president, David Starr Jordan, claimed she died of ‘natural causes,’ though Jane had survived an attempt on her life only weeks prior after drinking from a different mineral water that was found to contain rat poison. No one really believed she died naturally. And while some conjectured that Jane decided to die by suicide on that Hawaii getaway, there is far more evidence to suggest that Jane was murdered. But who actually poisoned her has never been solved.

    Cayley Mandadi

    Cayley Mandadi

    Episode 37 Cayley Mandadi
When Trinity University student, Cayley Mandadi was rushed to a local hospital by her boyfriend, doctors originally treated Cayley for a potential drug overdose. However, when she died, the medical examiner ruled her death a homicide and her boyfriend was arrested. But when his trial ended in a hung jury, it begged the question: did Cayley’s boyfriend actually murder her?

    Joe Micalizzi

    Joe Micalizzi

    Episode 35 Joe Micalizzi
The New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) is well known for its dedication to campus safety and student security. But its location in the city of Newark would show that no matter how tight security might be, there is always a chance for the worst to happen. And though crime in Newark was reportedly down in 2016, these statistics were meaningless to the family and friends of NJIT junior, Joe Micalizzi, who became one of the many victims of Newark’s violent crime in May of that same year.
Governor Chris Christie spoke of Joe as mentioned in this episode.

    Jillian Robbins

    Episode 34 Jillian Robbins

Jillian Robbins was a troubled teen with a long history of mental instability. But when she lied on her military application and was accepted to basic training, her years of hallucinations and debilitating depression turned her military sniper training into a recipe for a mass killer. When she decided to fire on unsuspecting students at Penn State University, the quick thinking and brave actions of a Penn State Senior kept her attack from turning into a bloody massacre, limiting the loss of life.

Poopsmudge ,

Well researched, insightful and compassionate

I’ve listened to both women in crime and campus killings probably since they began. I appreciate how well researched their podcasts are every week. They don’t dramatize the crimes but provide an understanding of the crime and help educate me on the justice system. They are incredibly insightful and compassionate.

You both are greatly appreciated!

Nonsense explainations

In the Yardley case they use “toxic masculinity” as an explanation of cause. Knock it off!!

Interesting pod

Great pod and interesting topic.

Just a note Matt Damon is not a graduate of Harvard, he dropped out. :)
