Overcoming Obstacles: Press Intrusion and Personal Transformation

Overcoming Obstacles: Press Intrusion and Personal Transformation

EPISODE 23 OF DENISE WELCH'S JUICY CRACK!
There's no pain, no gain at the gym getting ready for a couch to 5k! Coping with the long, cold, wet, grey winter. Deliberations on the Prince Harry phone hacking case, and a discussion around the harrowing effects the press can have on celebrities' lives as well as the long-lasting implications of phone hacking. How being broken by the events of 9/11 led me down a path of healing with the support of my dearest friends.
I open up about my own encounters with the press, including moments of journalistic entrapment that left a lasting impact on my trust and mental health. We'll discuss the consequences of such stories, and how we hope that those responsible are held accountable for the lives they've disrupted. Our conversation takes us to my son Louis' house, where we chat about acting and preparations for upcoming roles, as well as a potential mother-son safari holiday to South Africa and the importance of learning something new every day.
We get to chat about voiceovers and self-tapes, and reminisce about the glory days of Newcastle FC - memories of David Ginola, Peter Beardsley, Steve Watson, and Mickey Quinn. There's a snippet of my ‘Nibbles and Nails’ Whatsapp group and invite listeners to reach out with questions or suggestions.

'A week in the life' Part II...

EPISODE 19 OF DENISE WELCH'S JUICY CRACK!
This is Denise unedited, candid and unfiltered, speaking about her life, family, friends, career and mental health. Denise shares her opinions, life events and mental health journey in a no-holds-barred debut season.
Tuesday morning... a fourth consecutive day without spinning - maybe drinking water is helping! Behind the scenes with the wardrobe team at Loose Women and discussing bra fittings. Why is everyone saying Denise is non-binary on Twitter? Janet Street-Porter's Instagram strategy is hilarious - and totally unique. BillyHalpin ,

GREAT PODCAST

Love listening to Denise and Lincoln, you’ve heard some of the stories on Loose Women (if you live in the UK) but on the podcast you get to hear in a lot more detail, like Denise talking about her depression. But there are also lots of laughs in there too and now Lincoln gets to have his say too 🤣🥳

Abbyolivia ,

Thank you❤️

Denise, I’m so grateful for your honesty and openness regarding PPD. Even more, I feel incredibly validated and seen, considering I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone explain / describe the way I experienced PPD in the way you have. When I was suffering PPD/PPA (I gave birth into a pandemic in 2020, after suffering hyperemesis my entire 267 days pregnant), I couldn’t put anything into words. I just kept saying, my brain broke, I can’t feel anything. It was and is terrifying (not completely out of it yet…) So: thank you. Thank you for making me feel even slightly less alone and afraid. And for giving me hope. I listen to your pod at night, when my husband and son have gone asleep, and I open all the windows in the house and clean. Your voice is calming. And you’re so funny. Makes me miss my mom:) (I’m 34) My only constructive criticism is (and this may be more directed at editing?) those of us with misophonia (😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫) or at least for me, a lot of times your mic picks up every time you swallow, or when your nose is stuffy, etc, and it’s quite loud in headphones 😂 I say that with all the love in my heart. Otherwise, perfect podcast! And Lincoln is hilarious!

Love that you are talking about your mental health journey. Crazy how it is almost 2023 and still so much stigma behind it. Ps love your family. 💙
