Ummmmm. Ummmmm. Uhhhhhh
Ok. I’ve given the pod 5 stars because I love Andy and his takes on the current tennis landscape.
I love it so much, I’d prob pay for the content.
HOWEVER … the guy says UM and UHH way too much - it drives me to a point of madness. And sometimes I just turn the episode off and come back later to see if I can handle it another day.
Even when I’m watching or listening to TC live, same sentiment. If an editor would do a solid and edit the Ummms out … the pod would be perfect.
And on a side note: keep the cussing.
People saying they can’t listen because they are in the car with their kids, give me a break! You know you cuss in front of them. Don’t pretend to be angels. Andy, keep up the swearing. Keep up the great content and be the absolute gem that you are … and for the love of god - please try to eliminate some of the fillers sounds? Pretty please.
A Tennis Podcast that Veers Often
I really love the tennis part of this podcast. I love hearing players talk about strategy and point out what the layman or most dedicated fans miss. From discussing tournament directors to player agents to players themselves, there is no shortage of diverse perspectives on the myriad of things that go into a top professional, worldwide sport like tennis. I’ll be a continuous listener! Andy and Werthiem provide great POVs!
The cons include talking very frequently about non-tennis things. Who cares about Taylor Swift and the Super Bowl? This isn’t just a sports or pop culture podcast but a TENNIS podcast. Additionally, keep the politics out of it. We, as a vast majority, don’t give a hoot about Ukraine and how sad their players are. The Ukrainian bars and nightlife are open and people are fine. Why is there no sympathy for the Russian and Belarusian players who are handcuffed by their player’s federation and manhandled by the media? My final criticism is the subpar editing. During the Blake interview, I’m not sure who’s phone was giving off endless notifications but it was constant. The episodes are long, which I don’t mind, by Andy went on a 10 min monologue asking Werthiem questions but never stopped to let him answer. Please, trim some parts down. The one thing I know personally about Andy is his favorite word is “UMMM.”
Overall, really good podcast! I’m excited to see how it evolves and improves over the episodes and season!
Take a breath Andy
Andy has great knowledge and insights - love it. But he needs to learn to let his guest talk - jeez at least let Wirthheim get a word in occasionally. Great pod except for Andy’s stream of consciousness diarrhea of the mouth. I expect over time he will get better with that.
