PLEASE DO SHAKESPEARE AND HISTORICAL FIGURES!!!

Five stars!! Imagined life is one of the best and most unique podcasts — especially in the times we are enduring right now this podcast allows you to empathize with others and appreciate our shared human condition. If you are looking for an uplifting podcast that is about the lives of real people (and not true crime) then Imagined Life is for you. The writing and hosting/voice acting are both spectacular.

Imagined Life is a wonderful podcast that will fill you with joy and optimism during a very dark time (in terms of the real world). Many of us have our favorite episodes (as reported in the reviews); my favorite episode is “The Commoner.” I absolutely ugly cried like a massive baby when the identity of the “commoner” was revealed. The last few sentences, about this person’s truly unbelievable legacy (about which the commoner never knew sniff sniff), left me in ugly tears.

“The Idealist” and “The Spy” were also great even though I knew who “The Idealist” was b/c of a certain clue. Honestly I don’t agree with the politics of the “Idealist” but certain people complaining in the comments sound like children. “The Spy” is another excellent episode; I spent hours researching the Spy after that incredible episode.

You will laugh, and cry, and best of all you will better understand some of your fellow human beings...even people with whom you might disagree vehemently. This podcast pulls back the veil just a bit — just enough to make it more than worth your time.

I wanted to add a few quick points as I adore this podcast, and writing this review has been thrilling when review-writing is usually an obligation. Please do Shakespeare on Imagined Life!!! — and I’d love to suggest, humbly, a title — “The Upstart” — as he was described, nastily, by one of his jealous contemporaries, as the upstart crow (this can be removed from my review if you ever wanted to seriously use it! Lol)

An episode about Shakespeare would be fantastic — and details can be disguised (talk about acting and writing but not the world of the Elizabethan theater directly). Or Jane Austen or Isaac Newton etc? Or figures like Alan Turing — and you could call it “The Enigma?” (Honestly more figures who aren’t involved in the arts, but who are still persons with a fascinating life like Alan Turing, would also be welcome! I loved “The Patron” but I knew who it was almost immediately. It’s also great to cover people other than English and North American figures) There are so many possible lives with which to empathize and learn about our fellow human beings over the centuries.
