In a manner of speaking - Modern Languages

Movin Up - A P7 guide into S1

This weeks episode comes from the modern languages dept, and we speak to Mrs Belshaw who is the faculty head, and Miss Whyte who is a French and Spanish teacher.  There are many benefits of learning languages and it is a proven fact that People who speak more than one language have improved memory, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, enhanced concentration, ability to multitask, and better listening skills.

I remember when I was at school "why do I need to Learn German", and for many years that would be true, until I started taking people on holiday on my coach, all over the continent where it might have been quite useful to know a second language....

Have a listen hopefully there will be something in this episode that might inspire you.  For a start here is the story of the two French cats....

'Two french cats, called one-two-three and Un-Deux-Trois were in a swimming race.....Which cat won?

One-two-three, because Un-Deux-Trois-cat-sank..........   Sorry!!

Thank you for your comments, messages and questions.  In a few weeks time I am going to have an Ask me Anything episode where I will take the time to answer some of your questions.  And remember if you would like to have an episode recorded in your school comment on the teams page as to why?  If you would like to get in touch with the podcast either email me on:
