Inside the Aluminum Tube - The Aviation History Podcast

Climb Inside the Aluminum Tube and enjoy a fast-paced aviation history podcast telling the stories of accidents, incidents, mere mishaps and topics from the often quizzical world of aviation. It's all presented in a way that everyone can understand and enjoy, not just aviation geeks. I rewrite events in aviation history so you'll be hanging on to the edge of your seat, laughing, crying, shaking your head and rolling your eyes. Whether you're afraid to fly, or whether you're not...you will be.
A fantastic tale on what to do (or not to do)

A fantastic aviation podcast, with Shanon Baker’s unique perspective as a commercial pilot shaping enthralling stories. While the tone is noticeably lighter than other true crime adjacent aviation podcasts, he still treats the incidents with appropriate gravitas. A great new podcast that has nowhere to go but up.
Annoying cohosts

I am a commercial airline pilot who just listened to Episode 1. It was very difficult for me to listen to the full episode due to the constant giggling and banter with the unknowledgeable cohost. Additionally, the cavalier approach to discussing an aircraft crash in which four people lost their life was undignified and overly simplified. After finishing Episode 2 which had a different but equally annoying giggling sidekick, I really don’t understand why the host chose this two-person approach. Not only do the cohosts not add value, but they strongly detract. The cohosts continuously interject and appear to be fighting for equal or more speaking time than the host, and the podcast could be completed in half the time without them. Hoping subsequent episodes are better since there is so much potential for learning with these episodes. Really seems like host is egotistic and more interested in developing social media presence than advancing aviation knowledge and safety.
The Twists are So Good!

The high-quality research, wonderful host and co-hosts, and amazing stories themselves make this show really stand out above other aviation podcasts. I feel like I got to sit next to the person with THE coolest story at the dinner party.
PLEASE ditch the cohosts

Shannon is awesome and so thorough, but you could literally mute the cohosts’ mics and lose nothing from the overall story. The Tenerife episode was amazing, but the I’m pretty sure the cohost had a fake accent and her “contributions” were vapid. I listen despite the cohosts because the research done by Shannon of these events is so beautifully detailed and thorough.
