Death Positivity At Its Finest
07/15/2023
This show is not only extremely interesting but also so, so needed in this space. The more conversations about mortality, the less of a taboo topic death will become! The hosts do a great job at welcoming in all topics of mortality while observing space for people who might be sensitive to these types of topics. Would recommend to anyone considering their own mortality or looking to learn more about death and death practices.
The Order Of the Good Death will change your life.

I’ve spent my entire life being so terrified of death. Then a friend recommended Ask a Mortician on YouTube. I started with history based episodes, too nervous to watch the corpse/own mortality episodes. Through listening to Caitlin’s deep voice, I started to calm, and get a little more curious. This curiosity blossomed and I eventually watched as many episodes as I could find. Then this podcast. Through my curiosity, I’ve learned so much, and knowledge is the key to lessening fear. I now have a death binder that my family knows the location of, I’m vocal about death positivity. My life has changed from these women just talking about death in an open, honest, and compassionate way. Thank you to the order for helping me confront the greatest fear I’ve known.
Needful Insight and Conversation

This podcast and all of the Order of the Good Death's work is sorely needed in our death avoidant society. Episodes are well-paced and presented, and are extremely informative. Solid recommend.
She’s not a licensed embalmer
05/28/2023
She talks about subjects related to funeral industry but is only a licensed funeral director. She pushes her agenda of green burials and belittles embalming and it’s importance. Coming from someone that is dual licensed, it’s okay to educate people to have a better understanding of death however not to push your personal belief system and basically degrade an industry that she has used as a platform to spring herself into a sense of goth girl funeral director stardom. People listening could go to any funeral home and get a lesson on any of these subjects from a licensed funeral director & embalmer. I heard her voice and immediately knew it was her. Ugh.
