European security is deeply linked with the American willingness to protect the old continent and in this interview professor Nicolas Badalassi explains how  the Americans the last 80 years multiple times withdrew themselves from the promise of protecting Europe. 

Not afraid of calling the possible election of Trump in november 2024 an emergency, professor Nicolas Badalassi takes us through the history of European security since 1945 till today. 

Badalassi is the author of the book “Histoire de la sécurité européenne depuis 1945”, he  holds a PhD from Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3 – on the role of France in the cold war from 1965-1975. Today he is professor of contemporary history at Sciences Po’ Aix.
