Absolutely! I couldn’t agree more

The summaries are reasonable but the ai dialog sounds fake. I would prefer a single voice with clarity that this is a summary by an ai.
Helpful, but Ai hosts are robotic in their hand offs
2024/07/01
I appreciate the service that the podcast provides by keeping me up to date on academic papers in the field, but I find the pacing of the Ai hosts to be robotic and distracting. They each say 1 sentence, then the “co-host” chimes in with a “that’s right [name]…” and picks up the next sentence. It starts to feel like a grade school play about reading the news. My advice to the podcast devs- tweak the instructions that are generating this content to allow for more natural podcast-style hand offs. Allow the hosts to speak about a section of the paper before handing it off rather than a single sentence. And don’t force the cohost to have to say something to introduce each hand off (eg. “Good point”, “that’s right”, “interesting finding”, etc). It’s ok for a podcast cohost to just pick up the story without acknowledging that a hand off is happening. The podcast would feel much more natural and I would be less conscious and aware of the fact that the hosts are bots.
