The Golden age fallacy is the concept that the best was better than now. This happens because our brains are most open and susceptible in our teen years and youth. This boomer would have you think that not since Rocky Mountain has anything good happened in wrestling but it wasn’t better back then. Different but not better. Eras are unique. But that’s not fun to scream on a microphone. It makes me ill that this lying Boomer is still collecting ears to be worked. IF you listen to his vituperation for the pro wrestling today you’d believe the sport is dead AND not only so , but he had nothing to do with it. He alone is the last hero standing up for the Golden Era of the way things were. His politics are left wingish ( see TYT and Atheist rants) but his actions are MAGA. Pick a lane , Jim. Cornette was in the room where it happened. He penciled and pitched ideas that killed Kayfabe. But guess what wrestling is doing great right now. Kayfabe is not the reason we loved wrestling then nor is it now. AEW WWE ROH NJPW IMPACT NXT. everybody is eating. Why isn’t he at the table now ?! When wrestling is resorting and thriving, Cornette is podcasting and watching the product he couldn’t write if he wanted to. His hokey gimmicks have been out of style since the 80’s and early 90’s. But sure let him “shoot” about the “dark side” of a bunch of tales he had nothing to do with. Kenny and the bucks are killing wrestling , Tony Kahn is a useless leader and yet look at the contracts , look at the PPV buys , look at the growth of the products across the industry during the MOST bifurcated television and content time in content history of media , pro wrestling is thriving on terrestrial tv and coming to streaming. Golden age fallacy boomer lies. Don’t let negativity ruin your day.

I love Jim Cornette. I’ve loved him since I first saw mid south as a teen, I love the heels and he was the best. Now, Jim tells it like it is doesn’t hold anything back and gives us an unapologetic view on modern wrestling, the only drawback is you have to tolerate his cohost who is a jealous, wannabe who wishes he could’ve been in the wrestling business, but never was and hold grudges against people who treated him for what he was. But even with that drawback of having to put up with Brian constant and insufferable jealousy of people who were actually in the wrestling business. This is still the best wrestling podcast ever.
