Jonathan Antin - Blow Out (on the Show, Early Days of Bravo, Andy Cohen, & Hair) - Part I BEHIND THE VELVET ROPE

    • TV & Film

Jonathan Anitn steps Behind The Rope. Yes that Jonathan Antin from the classic hit Bravo show, Blow Out. A blast from the past, here to tell it all. Jonathan fills us in on what he has been up to since we last saw him on our TV screens. Jonathan's career is thriving in his current Jonathan Antin Salon, Beverly Hills. Originally destined to be an actor like his older brother, Jonathan went to pick his grandmother up at beauty school one day, met the Teachers, Headmaster and Owner and the rest is history. Jonathan teaches us the tricks of the trade, how to properly hold a scissors and how he got to be the superstar Hair Guru that he is today. Fast forward and one day Bravo came knocking and voila "Blow Out" was born. Jonathan explains how he was cast, the "reality” of the show Blow Out, his “employee” Brandon, his on screen “bad boy” image, and what filming was really like. He explains the integration of his worldwide blockbuster QVC products and how life changed once the show aired. Jonathan discusses Andy Cohen who, being an Executive Producer on Blow Out, was heavily involved in the show. Jonathan explains how, once Blow Out had ended, he almost had his own show “Salon Nightmares" - think Gordon Ramsay for Salons (hey we would watch that) and dicusess the circumstances which led to the demise of that show. Finally, we discuss the early days of Bravo and what he neophyte network was like back then during Jonathan’s tenure on Blow Out. We are just getting started. Tune in to this Part I sit down with Jonathan Antin.
