Laura Burgess is the owner and master coach of Meet The Future success coaching. Her passion driven mission is to inspire, improve and invigorate all willing participants, including herself. She is the mother of two young adult boys, is happily married to her gift from God who entered their lives 18 years ago and is ever grateful for the turbulent road she has bumped along and enjoyed for the past 50+ years.   Laura shares that while looking back on times in life that may still make us wonder how we made it through, it is the strength we pull from faith, and the knowledge we've drawn from - during each trying time in our life - that has led to a richer, more fulfilling and rewarding life.   Laura discusses her various chapters of life with seasons experienced.   CHILDHOOD First memories of lack and struggle How my mother would hide the hurt:   She worked for hotels and airlines, and we were able to travel But how I still saw it o No dad in the house - she had the pressure o Not sure how bills would get paid (shake a tin cup) o She worked two jobs and would be tired   My mother met my step-dad - he was from England o Saw hope, lived with my Dad, more junk but how we dealt with it o Mostly poverty, but always faith and hope Moved to Italy - I felt privileged   MOTHERHOOD How our childhood directly impacts our romantic relationships and parenting Met the father of my children, and I took a very logical approach to the relationship We had children - how the relationship took a turn - how it impacted our kids Hurt people hurt people   GIFTS FROM ABOVE I wouldn't be who I am today or where I am today (look at the jobs I've held) I am grateful for things that went wrong (it is in our darkest moments we see light) We keep putting one foot in front of the other and we are all on our own journey We must reach out and call out and realize to God and to those around us   Laura’s favorite books include the following:   The Secret by Rhonda Byrne Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol S. Mark Barnes – ThE BaD BoY oF ChilL OuT

Mark Barnes was born in Buffalo, NY on April 19, 1961. His immediate family was always very creative through either music or art. Mark’s Grandmother played Piano at various movie houses for the silent films in the 20's and 30’s. His Father and Mother were musically and artistically inclined respectively.   Mark has been playing the Piano since the age of 3 and was always a terror to his piano teachers, never wanting to play the lesson but always wanting to feel the music instead and play what was inside his head. When he was 12, his mother finally signed his sister and Mark up for Guitar lessons. Although Mark had no interest in playing the guitar and did not feel this would be of any benefit, the instructor worked with them for 6 months. He was teaching us guitar chords, my sister the guitar and for Mark, the relationship of the guitar and their chords to the piano. It was great and Mark credits him with helping him to understand how to play out his emotions and feelings.   Mark composed his first Ballad at age 15 for his father. It was funny as his dad always called Mark "The professor." Mark always thought that would somehow become his nickname, but Mark’s friends were always calling him “Barnsey,” and that’s what stuck. Mark loves to travel extensively and finds the most relaxing vacation to be a cruise. Mark really enjoys working with other musicians and finds that its helps create a very emotional edge about his music. It is the one place in which Mark can truly express all of his tears, fears, laughter and love for all of those around him. Mark feels “Music is the window to the soul. Put your negative emotions into being creative and never take them out on another human being.”   Mark was always the realist when he was younger. He wanted to enter the music field but never felt the right timing then and thought that in such a competitive field and with all of these other wonderful musicians out there that he would never stand a chance. So thus, Mark went into financial business for himself and has run numerous successful mortgage banking and mortgage lending firms for the last 24 years, moving to Florida in the process. He continues to compose and play new music for the people who matter most in his life, which is his family & friends.   Funny how times change, and the Internet was probably the biggest catalyst in that change for the music industry. It has brought us so much closer and has given us all a real gift. Mark has to say setting up his MySpace personal and music page was the most positive experience of his musical life. It had allowed him to meet some very wonderful talented musicians, singers and artists of all walks of life and share their talents with each other and the public (their fans). It had inspired Mark to realize that it does not matter how old one is or where one is in life, good music and the arts should play an important role in everyone's existence. Mark has new found inspirations since his mom’s passing, and the emotional well just keeps pouring out new songs weekly. That combined with all of the new people has met, been exposed to and inspired by, has allowed him to open himself to listening and composing all types and styles of music.   Out of this entire experience and most of all, Mark Barnes looks forward to continue composing and writing new music and playing them….just for you!   #markbarnes #music #songwriter #artist   Georgette Website: https://www.georgettebeck.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/georgette.beck/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GeorgetteBeckWriter   Mark Website: https://markbarnesmusic.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/markbarnesmusic Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MarkBarnesMusic1/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/markbarnesmusic/     Junk to Jewels podcast was inspired by Georgette Beck's first book, Junk to Jewels, A Journey from Brokenness and Despair to Beauty and Delight.  Junk to Jewels podcast with Georg

    Riley Sloan Powell – Let’s un-Do This!

Riley Sloan Powell is a speaker and bestselling author as well as a wife and mother to three amazing children, ages 2-17. Through a pivotal journey back through her story, she changed the narrative of her life to become rooted in the truth that God loves her deeply. Now she uses all she has learned to lead others in finding their identity, without performance, perfection, or exhaustion, and to learn how to hear God's voice in their own lives.   Riley and Georgette discuss what it means to seek God and find Him in ones own life. God chases after us to give us truth. He tells us to seek Him but that feels mysterious. How can we find Him? How does He sound? What are we even looking for? Riley believes knowing His voice awakens our lives to true living. We spend to much time in automatic movement s, meeting expectations, but what happens when we receive the love of God and live in response?   Riley’s book, Let’s un-Do This, is her story of marrying young which led to a young divorce, then getting pregnant out of wedlock, all as a Christian who loved Jesus. Riley put on her happy face and did her best to be happy and live the best life she could after that until God invited her to healing and showing her His love for her.   After years of wishing she could be perfect, but really loathing her story and hiding deep in shame, Riley took a trip through her past, allowing God space to rewrite the narrative of her heart, with true identity, clothed in love.   This is a story of realizing it is not too late to be who you long to be.   It is a story of a great big God leaning in close to whisper in a voice only she could hear to remind her who she is. By discovering His voice for her, she could see where He had chased after her to give her truth. She used the technique of writing her story to discover how God had been in every detail, covering and pursuing to give life. She found Him in all kinds of places, from in the embrace of her brother in an armchair, to in her car while zooming down the interstate!   This memoir extends a personal invitation to the reader to breathe deeply and believe that God is FOR YOU. This isn’t a process of digging up the past and it’s not even about stepping into purpose. This is about making space for the MORE God is offering in this moment.   Are you full of exhaustion and so tired of trying to keep up?   Do you even know what you want? When was the last time you were asked?   Can you find room for one more thing, much less family devotions or being creative?   Are you playing small, hidden in regrets?   This book will fill your life with renewed energy and passion for living. Through personal story and hilarious wit, Riley invites us all on a journey of checking our beliefs and making space to be reintroduced to the Father, so that we can boldly live lives from a place of confident rest. When we find Him in our story we can see that we are deeply known by God and liked by God.   When your identity in Him feels easy, the rest flows in grace.     Socials:   Georgette https://www.instagram.com/georgette.beck/   https://www.facebook.com/GeorgetteBeckWriter   Riley Instagram: @rileysloanpowell Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/letsundothis     Junk to Jewels podcast was inspired by Georgette Beck's first book, Junk to Jewels, A Journey from Brokenness and Despair to Beauty and Delight.  Junk to Jewels podcast with Georgette Beck will inspire, educate, encourage, motivate, and give hope to listeners as they heal from their past, in the present, for their future.  Georgette is not afraid to share her heart with listeners, for heart matters, truly matter! Georgette Beck – Everlasting Love & A Daughter's Tribute

Georgette Beck, the host of Junk to Jewels Podcast, beautifully pays a special tribute to her father, George Kijewski, who passed away on January 20, 2024. Georgettes in memory story starts off with her grandparents on her father’s side, both of whom she considers bad assess. Georgette describes a beautiful photo of her mom framed for her dad with a personal message written on it; “George, my love for you is everlasting. Joanna.” Turns out, both of Georgette’s parents’ love for each other was everlasting. Georgette’s parents were on the cusp of celebrating 50 years of marriage before her mom passed away (June 2, 2017). Their 50 years were years full of life, vibrant, colorful, interesting life, full of adventures, love, joys, pains, mountaintops and valleys. Both her mother and father understood sacrifice and hardship. They also understood what love, faithfulness and loyalty truly mean. For they both lived this out to each of their final days here. Georgette states, “My parents have left us kids a beautiful legacy and for all of us really, of two lives lived who understood what love is about. Their story is an epic love story. It’s a story not just about the guy getting the girl in the end, but about a guy who “got” the girl in the beginning and about a girl who “got” thee guy. And when I say “got” I mean literally, they found each other, but also figuratively, for they truly understood each other.”    George and Joanna’s love story portrays epic love. And it starts off with a handsome young man referred to as “Gorgeous George” and a very beautiful young lady named Joanna. Life began for the couple in some usual ways and with plenty of unusual circumstances woven in through the years.     On July 22, 1998, Georgette’s mom gifted her father with a Bible and on the inside wrote, “To my beloved, tenderhearted husband George who I love even more today than yesterday. Joanna.”   Georgette shares how the date has significance. You see that was a season of life full of transition and loss. Both of her parents hit a bottom of sort, emotionally, financially, mentally and physically. Georgette describes specific circumstances.   She ends by saying, “But honestly, my key takeaways on how to live life well came from my parents, from having watched them live their lives through all of their ups and downs as they navigated mistakes made by themselves or by others. My key takeaways from lives they led are:   Select a good mate love hard take risk remain faithful be loyal be generous in heart, time, and money help others be good parents to your children (not their best friends, but parents who take the time to develop their kids, provide for their kids and hold their kids accountable to choices made and to suffer consequences accordingly work hard be a visionary and have huge dreams go after it, whatever that is for you have faith and lots of it Don’t ever give up Forgive and give grace”   Georgette challenges individuals to show up for life and do the best you can.   Her parents did the best they could every single time. They failed, but they kept trying. We failed too. But it’s what we do with the failure that matters.   Georgette asks viewers and listeners to look at past and present photos. Decide who you wish to be and what you truly desire for you and your family’s future.   Life and family are what we make of it.   Everlasting love was experienced by her parents. And Georgette says everlasting love is for us all.   #everlastinglove, #family, #relationships, #lifepriorities, #deathoffather, #father, #daughter, #love, #forgiveness, #howtolivelife, #epiclove, #celebrationoflife, #memorial   Junk to Jewels podcast was inspired by Georgette Beck's first book, Junk to Jewels, A Journey from Brokenness and Despair to Beauty and Delight.  Junk to Jewels podcast with Georgette Beck will inspire, educate, encourage, motivate, and give hope to listeners as they heal from their pas
