Kairoticast
A podcast about rhetoric and current events hosted by M. Elizabeth Thorpe, PhD. In this podcast we explore the way big ideas from the world of rhetoric apply to every day life. We focus on major events that are shaping the world today and consider how those things that sometimes seem like they belong in the ivory tower can actually help us make sense of the life we are living. This isn't a podcast for the experts. This is a podcast for the intellectually curious.

As someone who hasn’t take a rhetoric class since undergrad, but is super interested in understanding public dialogue, this podcast has been both helpful and engaging. Sometimes Dr. Thorpe gives us context or theory to help us make sense of general principles of democracy, other times she deconstructs a specific recent event. I am a professor who teaches about leadership and interpersonal communication, but have shared multiple episodes with students to help them understand and draw connections to our other course content. Dr. Thorpe and the Kairoticast crew are also super receptive to feedback and ideas, so definitely reach out to them!
Thanks!
