    Episode 9: “Forgive me”

Kindavangelical is the podcast where we talk about more beautiful ways to live the Christian life. Sometimes the more beautiful way is more difficult, in fact it usually is, right? In this episode Pete discusses what to do, instead of flippantly asking someone to forgive you, after you’ve done something hurtful. It’s hard, and it’s beautiful too.

Thank you

I am no longer a Christian after listening to this podcast series. I feel free to "do as thou wilt". Thank you, Pete.

Thank you for a new pathway for doing church modern world!

I really appreciate the intellectual courage and curiosity to think again about how to live a life that follows the teachings and examples of Jesus. The honest appraisal of what fundamentalist evangelicals created when developing and defending the concept of biblical inerrancy, or as Theologian Karl Kuhn refers to in the title of his recently published book, “Reading the Bible Badly”, “How American Christians Misunderstand and Misuse their Scriptures”, disentangles so much of what has become the unloving and unkind, tacitly taught and accepted, but judgmental and harmful, doctrines that droves of fundamentalist evangelicals have unwittingly complied with, to “fit in”. Even the older mainline denominations in our country have much to learn from these podcasts about how to do church in this post-modern era!

Thank you for your honesty and courage to be a champion for change, in a world that really needs a HOPE with practical answers and a sensible pathway for doing Church and living the Christian Life in a more beautiful way.

Hurtful

Pete was probably one of the most influential and compassionate pastors I have ever known. I am compassionate and respectful of his current journey. However his continued references on this platform and facebook of the "white evangelical " as the cause of all wrong in this world and his, is disappointing. He is getting ready to post an interview with Janet Kellogg - who, in a summary of one of her books calls out "white evangelicals " as the main humans that protested C19 vaccines.- as if no other race protested this. This seems agenda driven and a pretty isolated point of view. Calling out and pointing fingers is far from peaceful and kind. This is also very label driven- "the white evangelical " "the mega church " "the lgbtq" "the homosexuals " -how about just humans ?humans are sinners? humans make mistakes? and how about critical thinking? As long as we are calling out specific people , labeling people, - we will continue to create animosity and angst amongst us. There are some good things about Pete's new social media journey- unfortunately you have to sift through his personal angst.😔
