Krusher Krawcyk lost a 2-million dollar lawsuit for striking reporter Michael Sluck, and began preparing for bankruptcy.

Julian Cain arrogantly took the Empire back to Atlanta and drew the smallest crowd to ever see Thor Hansen as EWF champ, despite his celebrity status as co-star of the hit Rambo movie.

Hercules Harris and Tommy Aloha bailed on SCW to join the Empire, to mixed results as Hercules was saddled with a heavy gimmick that he was highly conflicted about playing.

Burt Ironside’s All-South Wrestling and Charlie Gotch’s American Midwest Wrestling were both energized by the influx of the Meat Machine talents, packaged by Burt’s nephew Criss Stanley with new ready for TV gimmicks.

The Southern Rebels finally finished up in SCW, doing the honors for the Rock’n’Rollers at Wrestle America. Wrestle America, SCW’s biggest show in history headlined by Hollywood comedian, Jimmy Buck vs. Jesse James, and Diamond Donny Gold defending the WWA world title against rookie Beau Riggs. A wrestling dream show turned into a nightmare as the private plane flying Diamond Donny to the next town, went down in a fiery crash.

Charlie and Burt schemed on the future, Julian Cain successfully swiped Hollywood Buddy Melrose out of retirement, Tarzan has been working with the dragoni crime family to pay off his gambling debts, and the Southern Rebels arrived in All-South and immediately targeted Gabriel Angel who is all alone

And finally, St. Louis was sold at auction to the highest bigger, and we never found out if was Charlie & Burt, Krusher & Gilmore, Julian Cain, or someone else … until now.

    Season 4 ”Invitations” #33

Welcome to Kings of the Ring. A fictional wrestling saga inspired by the real-life stories of the 1980’s Pro-Wrestling Era, written and produced like an ensemble cast cable drama or soap opera.

Previously on Kings of the Ring,

Daniel Hawkins unknowingly outbid fellow WWA members to buy Heartland Pro-Wrestling at auction, as part of his moves to compete with Julian Cain's Empire, while the wrestlers began their migration out of St. Louis. And while Criss Stanley continues to find ways to fit in and be useful, Burt Ironside didn't like how he and the Alliance were worked by Julian in the auction.

After working off his gambling debts with the Mafia, the Tarzan Kid is once again riding high, the Southern Rebels debuted in All-South Wrestling by re-starting their feud with Gabriel Angel which now includes Apollo Sampson, whose been having his own issues with wrestler life and being targeted by locker room bully Brick Sawyer. Hercules Harris struggles with his "Mbutu Zulu" gimmick while Michael Angel and Corporal Punishment struggle with their standing in the EWF.

And while Julian Cain makes moves to attempt to impress mainstream society we journeyed back to the 60's where we saw the Kingsverse in its early days and his interactions with the owners of the Alliance as we explore where Julian's issues with Charlie Gotch began.

Kings of the Ring is intended for mature audiences. Today’s episode would be rated MA for excessive profanity and sexual dialogue.

    Season 4 ”Overdose” #35

Welcome to Kings of the Ring. A fictional wrestling saga inspired by the real-life stories of the 1980’s Pro-Wrestling Era, written and produced like an ensemble cast cable drama or soap opera.

Previously on Kings of the Ring,

Nigel Davies got Thor a TV gig on the "Love Boat", Krusher Krawcyk became desperate to work anywhere after bankruptcy court, Jesse James had a special meeting with Ava Hawkins to save the company, and the Rock'n'Rollers have become the hottest babyface tag team in the business.

Brick Sawyer and Tiger Warren pulled a humiliating and costly rib on golden boy Apollo Sampson, and "Pretty Boy" Willie Dean advised him to fight back or risk losing the locker room. Hercules continues to struggle with his Mbutu Zulu gimmick, while getting constantly razzed by old mentor DeShawn Brown, ABC News reporter Michael Sluck didn't get the revenge he hoped for on the wrestling business, and Charlie Gotch put his veteran babyfaces against the hot young heel Apocalypse, despite the warnings from son Nelly.

And the Tarzan Kid is dead from a heroin overdose...

    Season 4 ”Old Dogs” #36

    Season 4 ”Old Dogs” #36

Welcome to the Kings of the Ring. A fictionalized and romanticized re-telling of the 1980’s Wrestling Wars, following the rise and fall of the power brokers of the sport, while offering a peek into the sex, drugs, and muscles lifestyle of the 80’s wrestler and the sacrifices they make for success.

Previously on Kings of the Ring,

Thor Hansen headlined Empire-Mania against "Handsome" Jack Trade's charge, Kong the Destroyer, in a tag match, and Bad Bad Leroy Brown was given extended leave to get long overdue knee surgery. Charlie Gotch got egg on his face after he booked the old timers against the Apocalypse and were booed out of the building, and Michael Angel had a tearful and emotional farewell to his brother and father before bolting for the EWF.

After declaring bankruptcy after losing his lawsuit against ABC News Exposed, Krusher Krawcyk has been back on the road, getting as many bookings as he can, and Diamond Donny Gold has had a rough recovery since the plane crash that broke his back and left him paralyzed from the waist down. Hercules Harris was reunited with old trainer DeShawn Brown, who constantly lets him know it, and Jimmy Buck's wrestling foray has paid off into being on the verge of signing on to star in a huge Hollywood comedy.

And finally we saw Julian Cain's encounters with Charlie Gotch as a youth in discovering their mysterious history together.

Kings of the Ring is intended for mature audiences. Today’s episode would be rated MA for the usual. Sexual dialogue, profanity, drug use, and smoking. (Hear that kids? smoking ain’t cool anymore…)

Nothing like this anywhere

This is by far the best thing in podcasts. I’ve even heard other audio dramas, and this is the best, not just in wrestling. Re-listen to past seasons if you really want to catch the storytelling depth you get with KOTR.

King of pods!

King of the Ring is a creative idea in the world of wrestiling podcasts. I'd never quite seen anything like it but I had a great time hearing the story of Wrestiling Wars.
