I feel lucky to have picked up this podcast at the very beginning. The drawers of this show, Scott and Matt, share a love of story and understanding of its power I never appreciated before this. Their theory: “the author is a genius and everything is intentional” is so powerful and has changed the way I consume stories, and in fact, life. I’m a healthcare provider and I can confidently say that remembering that thought process when interacting with people telling me their healthcare story has absolutely had a positive effect on my interactions with many patients. The banter is perfect, the analysis is deep without being overdone, and most importantly there is an abiding appreciation and respect for the art form that shines through this work. I’m sad to see Kingslingers coming to an end, though I knew it would come. But I’m excited for Flanagans Wake and the rest of the work these 2 have to produce. If you’re new to this podcast and/or the tower….boy am I jealous of all you get to experience yet.
One from Many

I found Kingslingers during the pandemic and it remains the definitive podcast on the works of Sai King. Scott and Matt bring intelligence and thought-provoking discussions to each episode, no matter the book. The community built from this series truly defines ka-tet: we are one from many. Thankee-sais for all you have done since the inception of this show. Here’s to a few more conversations before the clearing at the end of the path.
Taking this series straight to the brain.

I’ve been a long time listener to two other King podcasts (The Losers Club and The Stephen King Cast) that I have absolutely loved, HOWEVER, the rate at which I consume those episodes pales in comparison to how addicted I am to the guys on Kingslingers. There’s something so friendly, inviting, calming, and often wholesome about Matt & Scott’s discussions. I love how simply they compare their thoughts regarding plot points of the stories they cover, how interesting their tangents are, and how I’ve caught myself actually responding/interjecting to their conversations out loud while listening. I just started listening to them around July 2024. I had a major death in the family that same month, and in August my wife and I moved from Minnesota to Colorado. The hours of drive-time (and grieving time) I’ve spent with these guys has kept me sane. Thanks, fellas. I’m ALMOST caught up on all the episodes, and I was dumbfounded when I listened to their announcement about ending this project at the end of the current season. I’m just grateful that I’ll get a chance to listen to the final episode of the series live!
Loving this podcast so far!

I’m reading the shining parts, and so far you’ve mentioned a couple books you won’t be covering on the pod including rose madder and doctor sleep and I’m wondering why? I was so sad when I heard you won’t be covering doctor sleep, I understand time being a factor. I’m just wonder why you won’t be covering certain books?
