La Crosse mayor candidate Ellie McLoone on experiences, priorities for the city

WIZM - La Crosse Talk Interviews

We got to know La Crosse mayor candidate Ellie McLoone, who stopped in the WIZM studio Tuesday for La Crosse Talk and discussed the experiences she brings to the position and her top priorities for the city.

Some of those included housing, homelessness, having a city administrator, attracting business and filling vacancies within the police department.

Spent the first half of the show hearing about McLoone’s backstory, her roots in La Crosse, experiences and work history.

After that, we got into some more specific thoughts McLoone has on different topics, including how this side of the state needs a mental health facility, plus how the city might balance its wants and needs. That led to a discussion on whether La Crosse should have a city administrator.

Capped off the show with more on the city’s housing dilemma.

You can read more about McLoone's positions on other topics on the WIZM questionnaire she answered. All four candidates' answers can be found here.
