    It’s Series 3, Episode 2 of Merlin and the second part of “The Tears of Uther Pendragon” and we’re back by our lonesome in our sad girl era talking about dragon riding, Manchester by the Sea, All of Us Strangers and Monika’s new love of Paul Mescal. Shout out to the visual effects team for these past two episodes as they were asked to do so much work on what was probably a small budget and tight timeline. We also discuss Gwen’s character and story arc, Tom Ellis as Cenred and how Gaius and Merlin are Camelot’s Doctor Deaths. See you next week for Episode 3!

    We are back after our month vacation and a skiing trip to Germany where we lost our skis and we’re interviewing the legendary DP of Merlin, Dale Elena McCready. She is a New-Zealand born cinematographer who has worked across the globe. She has worked on productions like The Witcher, Happy Valley, The Last Kingdom and of course, Merlin. She is in the New Zealand and also British Society of Cinematographers. Her newest project, The Day of the Jackal starring Eddie Redmayne is out on Peacock in the US and Sky in the UK. We take some time to dissect so many problematic men involved in these two projects that include misogyny, anti-Irish sentiments, racism, being queer in the early 1900s and so much more. So if those things are not for you then probably don’t listen this week.
