At the top of the hour, we bid farewell to an icon of the 1970s. A household name who dominated the news cycle. We're talking of course about actress Linda Lavin, who passed on Sunday at the age of 87. She played the eponymous lead in the late 70's-mid 80s sitcom "Alice" as well as a slate of roles on stage and screen. And of course, we're actually primarily talking about former President Jimmy Carter, who died at the age of 100 this weekend. Mr. Carter leaves behind a legacy as marked by his abysmal approval ratings at the end of his presidency as by his remarkable dedication to human rights. Carter's legacy becomes more complicated with the interference we now know of in his final 12 months, specifically regarding the Iran Hostage negotiations.
These legacies are set. Some are still fervently building their legacies. Like Elon Musk, who is not content being the richest man in the world. He also wants to be the most influential. However, he's struggling to find his groove as he backtracks from bold stance to whimpering pleas on his own platform.
