The Good Man's Radio Show

The Good Man's Radio Show

Ever since I could remember there was music in my life or rattling around in my head. As I was born in 1966 I was too young to really appreciate the great musical styles of the times, but I was brought up on the 70’s music of 10cc, Bowie, Roxy Music etc. so all was not lost. I have been passionate about early Garage/Psych since my teenage years but I discovered very quickly that the more I was to delve into the past musically the more pathways and other avenues of musical styles opened up to me leading into a fascinating world of Blues, R ’n’ B, Rock, Soul,  Ska, Folk, Pop etc. After many happy years of collecting vast quantities of music from the era 1960 to about 1978, I started to wonder if there was anyone else out there in the big wide world who shared the same passion as I did. This in turn led me to seek out possible venues playing the kind of music I adored. But despite living just outside of Birmingham there was nothing happening locally. I found myself travelling to London to get my ‘fix’. As this was a logistical nightmare I started to look into a possible cheaper radio ‘fix’... surely there must be something happening? Actually I found much to my disappointment, very little or many dead links of now defunct shows. Well I decided I then only had one choice, to put on the sort of radio show that I would love to tune into myself and hopefully so would others. Well here we are with the finished product. The Good Man’s Radio Show. I hope you find yourself awfully glad that you stopped by my little bubble of joy and I am able to spread at least a little of the joy I feel myself when I listen to my music. If I can spread the word of all these (sometimes) forgotten gems and start a whole new generation of people looking to explore the possibility that music doesn’t have to be dull and lazy, which I tend to feel an awful lot is now sadly, then so much the better. Thanks for tuning in folks, enjoy the trip. .LemmyX

News:Well, here we are again folks with another installment of The Good Man’s Radio Show for your pleasure. Big thanks once again to Andrew North for making it possible and Matt G for filling the Audio Library some more. Good news for you all, the show is now only partially blocked on YouTube, fortunately only in Russia/Belarus (they don’t know what they’re missing). This means that all the newer shows should be available to listen to on YouTube so they should reach a bigger audience at some point. More love to share is a good thing. If anyone can do me a Big Favour and visit the site and start liking and leaving comments, that would be very much appreciated as it seems, the more people visit the more YouTube pushes it on peoples feed and more folks get to be aware of it. Anyway, hope you enjoy the show and thanks to you all for the support and listens so far. Tracklist:Night Owl – The NocturnesImagination – Clayton SquaresCandy Store Prophet – Tommy SandsSunshine Superman – The StandellsBorn to Be Wild – SladeWhen All Your Friends Have Gone – SteamhammerSlipping Away – Orang-UtanBroke and Lonely – Johnny ‘Guitar’ WatsonHelp Me – Owen GrayNow Let’s Popeye – Eddie BoDiamonds in The Mine – Leonard CohenMy Delicate Skin – Dave CartwrightThe Monk – Rupert HineI Don’t Know What It Is, But It Sure Is Funky – RippleHercules – Aaron NevilleBut I Do – The Walker BrothersLove to Love – Neil DiamondDon’t make it So Hard (on me baby) - Simon Dupree & The Big SoundPandemonium Shadow Show – Mandrake Paddle SteamerThe Spider & The Fly – The DakotasThru The Rhythm – 13th Floor ElevatorsA Little Bit of Shangri-La – Our plastic DreamChoose Who I Like – Mort & The MobeesShape of Things to Come – Max Frost & The TroopersMy New Day and Age – The MindbendersSnakeskin – Julie FelixSunshine River – GeminiIn The Wee Small Hours of Sixpence – Procol HarumWith a minute to Go – Leaf HoundLevinia – SteamhammerWhy Does it Go On – Rod StewartWhy Do You Stand in My Way – Pros & ConsTake it Back – CreamTry Again – TranquilityRosie Can’t Fly – SleepyMinute Prologue – Leonard Cohen

News:Welcome to another new episode of The Good man’s radio Show. Hope you are enjoying the trip so far. Still trying to keep it eclectic and to not fall into the trap of just being another Psych/Garage show hence throwing a few rock tracks in to the mix amongst other things. I still cannot get the show up on YouTube annoyingly. They hosted it on Google Podcasts which they have now discontinued. They then asked for an RSS Feed to link up the show then blocked it Worldwide on Copywrite grounds which is vey frustrating. I am now on X (Twitter) though www. https://twitter.com/TheGood_Man7 so if any want to access me there and follow me, that would be great as the more the merrier.
