A podcast about Living Freely in a World Given Back to Us.

    The Human Touch

    The Human Touch

    * 00:00 - Introduction

    * 03:37 - Free-for-All (Most exciting thing during the lockdown Best forms of dueling)

    * 11:43 - Main Topic (The Human Touch)

    In episode ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-SEVEN Mike and Peter return to the studio to discuss The Atlantic article entitled: 30 Years Ago, Romania Deprived Thousands of Babies of Human Contact. (I think it was that uplifting title that caught Mike's attention.) Before discussing the importance of human contact (especially in the early developmental stages), the guys try to get back into the podcasting swing with a Free-for-All. Oliva, who has joined them for this episode, takes a stab at it, but it doesn't go so well. Fortunately Mike and Peter remember they can talk about "civilized" ways of disputing, so they pull it together.

    It's been a bit since our last episode, we hope this gets to be a more regular thing again soon.

    How about Liturgical Worship?

    How about Liturgical Worship?

    * 00:00 - Introduction

    * 03:37 - Free-for-All (Most romantic means of transportation)

    * 11:43 - Main Topic (How about Liturgical Worship?)

    In episode ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-SIX Mike is joined by Peter to discuss the role that liturgical worship may serve to answer some of modernity's crises and why the draw to the historic liturgy crosses time and denominations. They take as their springboard the opinion piece penned by Tara Isabella Burton in the May 8, 2020 edition of the New York Times, entitled Christianity Gets Weird: Modern life is ugly, brutal and barren. Maybe you should try a Latin Mass. Before getting to the topic at hand, however, the guys try their hand at being romantic, as they try to think of the most romantic means of transportation (Mike might do slightly better than Peter in this one, but we'll let you decide).

Great Podcast, Great Network

I found 1517 a few years ago through a recommendation for the Thinking Fellows podcast, and from there I have gone through almost all of the podcasts on this network and backlogging through them to get all of the wonderful content that they have put out. I graduated from a Lutheran institution a few years ago and was a bit burnt out on my faith, but I can honestly say that these podcasts have been the main reason why my faith has been revitalized and has become even stronger these past few years. I have found myself being reintroduced to topics I learned in my schooling as well as hearing new views and opinions about Lutheranism as well as Christianity in general, which has been super helpful in expanding my view on my faith and how I approach my faith in a practical way. They have a wide range of topics that are covered as well as a good variety that allows you to find something good to listen to no matter your background or knowledge base in theology. Definitely do yourself a favor and listen to some of the other podcasts on this network if you haven’t yet.

Podcast Crack

Caution! Listening to this podcast may cause a peace that transcends all understanding.

These podcasts are changing my life for the better. Their ability to mix theology with history, introspection with explanation, sprinkling it with humor while applying it to today’s culture inspires me to not just lead a better life, but to share these learned blessings with others. Let it Fly!

I have enjoyed the range of topics L.T.B.F. has to offer. Wade's off the wall humor's fun, keeps things lively and off balance a bit. Mike tries to keep Wade in check and focused. This recent COVID-19 volley (as of 3-19-2020) has been great. Keep it up guys...West Michigan is listening!
